For decades, anti-abortion extremists used misinformation to scare people and make it easier for them to chip away at abortion rights. It seemed unthinkable that they could pull it off, but they did. Which is more likely: that our systems fail us to the point that something as “simple” and human as breastfeeding our children is out of reach for millions of Americans or that in the face of a food instability crisis impacting their ability to feed their families, those millions of Americans didn’t think of the first idea that popped into your head?

Weldon would have been the most extreme anti-abortion nominee to be confirmed.
