Are There Vitamins or Supplements I Can Take To Help My Vision?

There are studies that suggest antioxidants, vitamin A, vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids are all beneficial to eye health. In general, it is advised to get most of your nutrients through a healthy diet, and for eye health, this can include healthy fish and a colorful variety of fruits and vegetables. If you are planning on taking supplements, be sure and speak to both your TotalEyeCare Centers doctor and your family doctor, as some supplements can interfere with prescription medications and carry other risks.

Computer vision syndrome is a real problem for many people who spend hours in front of a computer screen each day. Making sure your computer screen is at the correct distance away from you and wearing a pair of glasses specifically for while you’re working on a computer may help. Do I Have To Have My Eyes Dilated?

At TotalEyeCare Centers, generally all new patients under 18 years of age will be dilated during their examination or have the dilation rescheduled at a convenient time. Dilation after the first examination is at the doctors’ discretion based on condition, age, symptoms, and other factors. While it may feel very bright while your eyes are dilated, most patients are able to drive home. If you do not have sunglasses with you, please let us know so we may provide you with a disposable pair.
