Ahéhee’ Shidine’é. “Thank you, our people.” This is the heart of our company, and the spirit we carry today. Our office is closed for to honor the resilience, strength, and beauty of Indigenous communities. We acknowledge the ongoing struggles, from cultural disrespect to political silencing, but we stand firm in this truth: We are still here.

Sometimes, the most powerful medicine is hearing your own language. We are incredibly proud to honor Angela Lewis as our Employee of the Month. Beyond her exceptional coordination supporting our DCWs across Navajo and Hopi, Angela recently created a moment of pure connection. A client shared an outstanding review, expressing how meaningful it was to receive care support from someone who spoke Diné Bizaad. This is the heart of our mission. Thank you, Angela, for embodying it every single day.

National Day of Remembrance of Indian Boarding Schools is a day to remember, reflect, and honor the survivors and lost children of the Indian Residential School system. For our agency, the meaning of this day is woven into our mission.

The founding of Ahéhee Shidine’é Homecare was inspired by my mother, a boarding school survivor. I saw firsthand how, later in her life, being in an institutional care setting triggered painful memories of her childhood separation from home and family. Her deepest wish was to be cared for in the comfort and safety of her own home.

That wish is now our promise to our community.
