Self-care doesn’t always look like bubble baths and yoga 🧠💚
Neurodivergent means a person’s brain processes differently than what society considers “neurotypical.” This can include autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, learning differences, and more.
Sometimes self-care looks like:
✨ Stimming
✨ Watching the same show on repeat
✨ Deep-diving into special interests
✨ Wearing comfort clothes
✨ Info-dumping
✨ Setting boundaries
✨ Choosing alone time
✨ Creating sensory-safe spaces
✨ Resting without guilt
These are valid, regulating, and necessary ways many neurodivergent kids and adults care for their nervous systems. Self-care isn’t about changing who someone is — it’s about supporting how their brain and body work best.
Let’s normalize meeting kids where they are 🤍
