“If my human limped like this, I’d take him to a new vet.”

I don’t understand insurance networks.
I don’t understand 3-week waitlists.
I definitely don’t understand being told “this is just how it is.”

All I know is this:
When someone you love is hurting, they deserve care that actually helps.

But too many people get rushed appointments.
Too many get ignored.
Too many are told to live with pain instead of being helped through it.

Humans deserve better healthcare.
Care that listens.
Care that treats the whole person.
Care that doesn’t make suffering the norm.

If we wouldn’t accept bad care for our pets…
why do we accept it for ourselves?

🐾 End rant.
Now please fix healthcare.

Your “sports chiropractor” doesn’t have a squat rack, weights…
and tells you to stop lifting.

Let that sink in.

You train with barbells.
You lift heavy.
You move fast.
You load your body on purpose.

But when pain shows up?

You’re told to stop squatting.
Stop deadlifting.
Stop training.
Lie on a table instead.

And somehow… that’s supposed to get you back to lifting stronger and safer?

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:

A lot of “sports care” never looks like sport.
It never loads you.
It never challenges you.
And it never prepares your body for real movement.

If your care environment:
• Doesn’t include weights
• Doesn’t assess how you lift
• Doesn’t progressively load your body

That’s not sports rehab.
That’s symptom management.

Being told to stop lifting isn’t a solution — it’s avoidance.
Pain during training doesn’t mean lifting is bad.
It usually means your body lacks strength, control, or tolerance for the demands you’re placing on it.

And you don’t get better at lifting…
by never lifting.

Passive care might calm symptoms.
But it doesn’t build capacity.
And it doesn’t restore confidence under load.

Lifting isn’t reckless.
Training isn’t the enemy.

For a lot of people, it’s stress relief.
Identity.
Confidence.

Taking it away doesn’t protect them — it teaches fear and breaks trust in their body.

At CAN-AM Sports Medicine:
• Rehab looks like training
• Strength is part of the plan — not the problem
• We don’t tell people to stop lifting
• We teach them how to lift better, stronger, and pain-free

If your goal is to train —
your care should reflect that.

For 2 years, they dealt with hip pain from an osteoarthritis diagnosis.

They did what most motivated people do:
• Kept training
• Got stronger
• Made solid progress

But about 6 months in… things stalled.

They couldn’t regain range of motion under load without sharp pain.

Strong — but still limited.

The difference started when they began working with CAN-AM Sports Medicine and Drs. Leung and Isaias.

Instead of random exercises, they received:
• A fully individualized plan
• A clear explanation of the why behind each phase
• Treatment aligned with real functional goals
• A structured framework for continuing progress after care

Not just exercises — a roadmap.

Because managing osteoarthritis isn’t about avoiding load.

It’s about applying the right load, progressively.

What set this apart wasn’t just hands-on care.

It was:
• Clarity
• Education
• Progressive loading
• Long-term planning

Now they’re restoring range of motion under load — without fear — and continuing to build resilient hips.

At CAN-AM Sports Medicine, we help active adults:
• Continue training with joint diagnoses
• Restore mobility under load
• Build resilient hips, knees, and backs
• Understand exactly how to keep progressing

A diagnosis isn’t a dead end.

It’s a starting point — when you have the right plan.
