We’re continually inspired by the volunteers from National Charity League. Fostering mother-daughter relationships in service to their community, our friends at the Sonoran Centennial chapter provided a fabulous summer picnic.

Many thanks - many of our guests enjoyed this golden hour picnic on our community center patio! 🧺

Peace, love & charity! The National Charity League Sonoran Centennial Chapter, Class of 2032 🎓 spent the afternoon assembling thoughtful care bags to welcome our guests. Filled with travel-sized health and beauty essentials and puzzle books, each one is a small gesture of comfort and care. We can’t wait to see the smiles these bring to our guests as they arrive—feeling supported from the very start. Thank you moms and daughters of for making such a meaningful impact in our community!

"There are so many layers to being a caregiver. It's not just caring for the patient. Caregivers also take on additional household responsibilities or care for kids or elderly parents. They may also be juggling work responsibilities” says Lynne Vitagliano, a Mayo Clinic social worker. “When we meet with them, they can let that out. And we hold it for a little while, so they don’t have to carry it alone.”

Caregivers are the glue that hold us all together and we’re so appreciative of the Mayo Caregiver Support Group for sharing an afternoon with us as we created heartfelt, one-of-a-kind cards for friends, family, and hospital staff. We’re so grateful for their time, creativity, and support. 💌

We personalized spring totes at our garden-inspired craft workshop this afternoon.
Guests have a little piece of natural beauty to carry along—to appointments, on travels, and through everyday moments.
We hope each tote carries warm memories of the time we shared together today! 🍃 🌺

It takes a village—and we’re grateful for ours.

Before the doors open, before the day begins to unfold, it’s this team already at work keeping every detail on track.

They’re the voices on the other end of the phone, the ones behind the emails, and the countless moving pieces in support of our Help In Healing Home guests.

Drop a 👋 in the comments to say hello to the team!

This little blackbird made itself right at home, enjoying a refreshing bath in our water feature in the heart of the Village. The best moments here are often the unplanned ones. 🐦

Happy 1st Birthday Casita 4! 🎉

Since opening in 2025 with the generous support of the Sam Baca Estate, Casita 4 has added six beautiful guest rooms—helping us welcome even more guests and their caregivers.

With 42 rooms, we continue to operate at full capacity, and we’re grateful to be able to support more individuals with comfort, affordability, and close proximity during their treatment journeys.

What an extra special day with the amazing volunteers from the National Charity League – Sonoran Centennial Chapter!

Did you know the National Charity League has been bringing mothers and daughters together in service, leadership, and philanthropy since 1925? Over a century of spreading kindness—and we’re lucky to feel that love firsthand!

We had the best time decorating colorful eggs while enjoying time together. 🐣 💛
Huge thanks to for the heart you bring to our community—we’re so grateful for you!

Our Story

Our mission of service started in 1999 as The Arizona Transplant House, a respite for recuperating whole-organ transplant patients. Previously an Arabian horse ranch belonging to Ed and Ruth Tweed, the property was donated to Mayo Clinic in the 1990’s, by their daughter Sally Tweed Groom. At that time, the property had space for 7 patients. Responding to innovations in surgeries, clinical trials, and medical treatments not foreseen when Arizona Transplant House was established, the Board of Directors broadened the mission to provide services to a wider range of patients. Consistent with the new mission, the corporation name changed to Help In Healing Home Foundation. With this change, Help In Healing Home provides a home-away-from-home for whole-organ, stem cell and bone marrow transplant patients, as well as cancer patients. Today, Help In Healing Home is located at The Village at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, accommodating 42 patient/caregiver teams.
