Happy 1st Birthday Casita 4! 🎉

Since opening in 2025 with the generous support of the Sam Baca Estate, Casita 4 has added six beautiful guest rooms—helping us welcome even more guests and their caregivers.

With 42 rooms, we continue to operate at full capacity, and we’re grateful to be able to support more individuals with comfort, affordability, and close proximity during their treatment journeys.

We loved welcoming Mayo Clinic’s Caring Canines this afternoon with their pet therapy for the mind, body, and soul. We appreciate the therapy dogs and handlers who joined us for a meaningful afternoon meet and greet at our Pups & Popcorn event. 🐶

Our Story

Our mission of service started in 1999 as The Arizona Transplant House, a respite for recuperating whole-organ transplant patients. Previously an Arabian horse ranch belonging to Ed and Ruth Tweed, the property was donated to Mayo Clinic in the 1990’s, by their daughter Sally Tweed Groom. At that time, the property had space for 7 patients. Responding to innovations in surgeries, clinical trials, and medical treatments not foreseen when Arizona Transplant House was established, the Board of Directors broadened the mission to provide services to a wider range of patients. Consistent with the new mission, the corporation name changed to Help In Healing Home Foundation. With this change, Help In Healing Home provides a home-away-from-home for whole-organ, stem cell and bone marrow transplant patients, as well as cancer patients. Today, Help In Healing Home is located at The Village at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona, accommodating 42 patient/caregiver teams.
