This Black History Month, we honor the strength, resilience, and lived experiences of the Black community- while also acknowledging the mental health disparities that still exist today.
Black individuals, especially children, are more likely to face barriers such as misdiagnosis, limited access to culturally informed care, and stigma around mental health support. These challenges are not due to a lack of need, but systemic gaps that deserve awareness, compassion, and action.
Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported. Mental health care should be inclusive, culturally responsive, and accessible to all.
