Continuing to read through this beautiful, important book written by my colleague (founder of ) 🩵🩵🩵

If you’re starting (or are still lol) unpacking your story around spiritual abuse, religious trauma, high-control religion, faith deconstruction, etc., you’ll find yourself nestled in these pages, even if the details of your story may differ from hers. I’ve chuckled along knowingly, I’ve had tears form in my eyes or a lump in my throat appear as my heart aches for her story and my own. Whether the harm happened from your church, your family, and/or your workplace (shout-out to all those who worked in churches, religious education or nonprofit settings, etc.), this book will remind you that you’re not alone in your journey!

Today marks 1 year since I started working at CTRR ( ) & today also marks my promotion! It’s been an honor to work & learn as an associate practitioner, and getting to step into the practitioner role is a dream come true! Doing work that I love with clients/topics I’m passionate about, surrounded by an incredible group of coworkers as been so pivotal for me. Love being in a role & in a place where I get to continue to learn & grow, as well having the privilege of helping others move towards their own healing is truly incredible.

So thankful to for the opportunity, both last year & now, & looking forward to the future!

Last call y’all!!! My groups start next week - which means the last day for inquiry calls is this Friday March 14th..... which means sign-ups for those inquiry calls close TOMORRROW (Th 3/13)!!!!

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, now is the time!

As previously mentioned - there’s been a LOT going on in our country, and for those who have walked through faith deconstruction, adverse religious experiences, and/or religious trauma - it likely has felt particularly overwhelming. If you’ve been feeling alone in it & would like some extra support this spring, we would love to have you join one of our support groups at Center for Trauma Resolution and Recovery!

The holidays can be wonderful in many ways, but for those with religious trauma, they can also be really challenging.

There is a lot of expectation around the holidays to engage in family traditions, & if those traditions are connected to religious practices that are no longer in alignment with someone’s worldview, those familiar traditions may also now feel foreign, uncomfortable, or even triggering. If traditions are bound up with rigidity, they can become costly to members of the group who are trying to uphold them.

Ultimately, traditions have to start somewhere; they have not always existed. Things have been added or adapted to “the way we’ve always done it” and it’s gotten better. There can be grief in releasing or adapting traditions, but that does not mean that there can’t be something beautiful awaiting in a new chapter.

So if you’re looking at the holidays in the weeks ahead, remember – you are allowed to change holiday traditions or create new ones! You can invite others to join you in your new traditions, or you can opt out of an old tradition and protect your peace as you engage with your new option.

If you’re thinking “I hope ABC doesn’t happen while I’m there” or “Ugh I always hate having to deal with XYZ”, then those are clues to places where you may want to offer some creative suggestions on a fresh way to approach things, or perhaps set a boundary. If your loved ones aren’t open to those changes, you are allowed to adapt your participation in the original traditions.

So yes -
•You are allowed to completely opt out this year.
•You are allowed to shorten your visit.
•You are allowed to get a hotel/ not stay in the same house.
•You are allowed to attend certain festivities and then go do your own thing for awhile before you circle back.

You do not have to put yourself under intense emotional stress in order to make everyone else happy; you can offer care to them while also showing care for your own needs.

And if you need some help sorting through all of this, sign up for your free 20-minute inquiry call at https://www.traumaresolutionandrecovery.com/available-practitioners ❤️💚❤️

Hey everyone, it’s been a little while!!!

There’s nothing like the holidays & post-election season to dig up some big feels 😉. It’s been quite a busy fall & looks like it’s gonna stay pretty busy through the end of the year! What I’m not too busy for though is YOU!!!

Appointment slots have continued to fill, but I do still have some availability before the end of the year for new clients! Sign up for a free 20 minute inquiry-call to see if working together is the right fit!

-Don’t see a time that works for you on my inquiry call calendar? Reach out; I’m open to flexing & seeing if we can find a time that does work!
-Worried that my regular rate doesn’t work for your budget? Ask about a sliding scale because I do offer a limited amount of reduced rate spots in my client base (and I do currently happen to still have a few spots open)!
-Live out of state? No worries; all my work is virtual! I see clients across the country & even outside the US!

Head over to https://www.traumaresolutionandrecovery.com for general info, or to https://www.traumaresolutionandrecovery.com/available-practitioners to sign up for your inquiry call!!!

We are all pretty aware that politics feels pretty contentious right now (& has for awhile). For people who have religious trauma, there can be an extra element of anxiety, frustration, and overwhelm. If that’s you and you’re looking for some extra support, we’d love to have you join us & sign-ups are now live!

These virtual groups will run for 5 weeks - 2 weeks prior to elections week, the week of election day, and 2 weeks after.

If you can’t join my group due to availability, feel free to check out if the groups run by my colleagues Laura & Casey work better for you!
