Immensely excited to learn from and
And thankful for to facilitate this opportunity.

I’m grateful to accept the good things that come my way now more than ever.
The chances to learn and grow as a practitioner. The grace I allow myself to build a practice that I had always hoped for.. and this educational step is a MAJOR piece of that puzzle.

You don’t need to buy your pelvic PT any gifts… but this pelvis art is a pretty great addition to the clinic space courtesy of a patient.

Again so grateful for the daily interactions that I get to have.

Patton Pelvic Health is a year old!

My friends and hosted a pool party, decorated everything rainbow, got this delicious cake hilariously spelled wrong (I loved it), and grilled amazing food. How the heck does life get more blessed than this?!

Friday, took me out to a downtown rooftop restaurant, we saw the sunset over the city, and then we went to first Friday and listened to some funky music. All of my favorite things packed into one weekend.

An incredible weekend to remind me I am surrounded by friendship and love.

I was very scared to start my own practice. I didn’t know if I still had the capacity for patient care after the chaos of 2020. Turns out, my love for treating patients returned when I was able to put my own self needs in that balance.

I’m so grateful my patients trust me to be a part of their team and I don’t take that trust lightly.

There are some new updates coming soon which I’m excited to share with you all! Cheers to another year 🌈🎂🍾

Isn’t is great to know that your healthcare provider takes time for themselves? I have had to learn how to listen to my body, say no, take breaks. So I can show up and be present for my patients, friends, and family.

Before I would dissociate from my personal needs anytime I was working. This led to GI issues, bowel and bladder symptoms, and pain. Now I build in recovery time and take days off intentionally.

My capacity for work is not where is was 5 years ago. That’s okay and I’m pretty happy with the balance I have created since starting my clinic.

Sending love to everyone navigating a new balance of life. Whether that’s kids, promotion or quitting a job, leaving or beginning a partnership. It all deserves a re-evaluation of what our bodies need.

Our standard physical therapy plan of care says 2x per week for 6 weeks. In my experience, that typically doesn’t work for chronic pelvic pain and inflammatory conditions.

My patients are surprised when I recommend once every 2 weeks to even once a month for treatment. The biggest mistake I made when I started treating complex pelvic pain was over treating and not allowing my patients bodies enough time between sessions to integrate the changes for their nervous system.

Now I treat less. My patients get better AND they don’t feel as overwhelmed dedicating multiple days a week to PT.

Have you had to re-evaluate your treatment plans for chronic pain? What worked best for you?

Some Friday thoughts.

Also I’m on twitter now (business only). The last time I was on twitter was in grad school and it is wayy different now to say the least. 😅

I always ask my patients: are you trying to just check a box to get better? Or did you notice how your body felt when doing this stretch?

Follow up questions: was it easy or difficult to feel your pelvic floor move? Could you soften your belly in this position?

Sometimes we are quick to “do the thing” but the nervous system doesn’t change overnight (most of the time).

What mindfulness strategies have helped you heal and feel more connected with your body?

Excuse me while I eat all of these!

I’ve met so many people that are also running their own businesses and it never ceases to surprise me how we hype each other in little ways.

Forever grateful to be a part of this community and connect with so many intelligent and passionate people like Amanda.
