Repairs are everything in a relationship. The reality is, conflict is inevitable. The difference in healthy relationships is the ability to find reconnection and make a quality repair. This is far easier to do when the relationship has a strong friendship.
So here's my invitation to for Friday night. Make it a date night and build up that friendship. It can be an at home date but make it a point to be present together. Here's some questions to help with connecting conversation. Be sure to approach this with willingness to just listen and learn about the other person.
1. What has been your most enjoyable activity/experience lately? What was so great about it.
2. Where would you like to see our lives 5 years from now?
3. What is something you've accomplished as an adult that your younger self would be proud of or didn't see coming?
4. What tasks or activities make you feel like your best self or you're in your element?
5. At this point in our lives, what would be the most fun things to do together? A new skill or hobby? Travel? Game nights?
6. If you were to sing a duet with a famous person, who would it be and why?
