π«οΈA few tips for First Time Land Buyers.π«
When looking for land to homestead on, be sure to do the following:
*Research yourself don't rely on a realtor or seller. Nothing against agents.π«Ά
1. Look up the zoning of the property.
2. Read all the zoning restrictions and land use permissions.
3. Call the County and/or City Zoning Office and ask them for a print out of said land use permissions and restrictions (if any).
4. Ask them (zoning) if there are any future changes in the books to the land use/zoning/etc. *This is rare, but some counties have re-zoned and or changed land-use, due to new developments etc.
Many people think because it's more than 2 or 5 acres they can do as they please on their land, only to get slammed with letters of land-use violations.
***Do not buy anything until you have verified you can have chickens, livestock, etc. *** Don't assume you can because it's in the country. π«Ά
We are seeing so many folks try and fight their zoning office, and sadly, most won't win.
