The holidays can trigger poignant reminders of loss. If you’re grieving, whether it’s a person, a relationship, a version of yourself, or the life you hoped you’d have by now, here are 5 gentle ways to navigate the season with compassion toward yourself.
️⃣Let your emotions flow freely: Don’t force yourself to “be okay.” Tears, laughter, and emptiness are not mutually exclusive.
️⃣Skip holiday plans that drain you: You’re allowed to say no, cancel, or leave early.
️⃣Give yourself permission to rest: Grief is exhausting—mentally, emotionally, physically. Let yourself slow down without feeling guilty.
️⃣Talk to someone who gets it: Whether it’s a trusted friend or a family member, an honest conversation helps you make sense of your loss and find ways to honor it.
️⃣ Seek grief therapy: If grief feels too much to bear, seeking therapy helps you develop strategies to cope with your loss in a healthier, more productive way. We offer it here at My Buoyant Health. 📞 (602) 510-6582
