Did you know that 1 in 2 sexually active adults will contract a sexually transmitted infection (STI) by age 25? Because many STIs do not cause symptoms, it is possible to have an infection and not know it.

Left untreated, some STIs can lead to serious long-term health complications, including infertility, chronic pain, increased risk of HIV, and other preventable health concerns. That is why routine testing is so important. Testing helps protect not only your health, but the health of your partners and community as well.

As STI Awareness Month begins, it is a great reminder that regular STI testing should be part of your overall health routine. Spectrum Medical is here to provide affirming, judgment-free care and the resources you need to stay in control of your sexual health.
