For people who are frustrated with CDC changing its stance on masking, please know that any virus will try its best to outsmart/outlive human beings. We figured that with social distancing, masking and vaccine, we can combat the virus but unfortunately, the resistance to these measures happened due to ignorance & arrogance.
SARS-CoV-2 had a nice opportunity to mutate and come out stronger in form of delta strain. Yes! Vaccinated people are getting infected with delta but 99% of hospital/ICU admissions are in non-vaccinated. Isn’t that good enough for you? Seat belts saves lives but people still die in a car accident even if they were wearing seatbelt. Do you argue that you won’t wear seatbelt and that it’s an impingement on your freedom? If we continue with non-compliance, more and more new strains are bound to come.
We’re all sick of this virus. Believe me! We healthcare workers have to wear it for 9-12 hours a day and talk loud through it. But we wear it for your protection and ours.
Let’s wear this mask, get vaccinated if you haven’t already and get rid of this microscopic beast.
