Hi, I am Michelle and I am the owner of InsideOut Fitness Az. I am an AFPA certified personal trainer and health and wellness consultant. I have a degree in elementary and special education and a masters in secondary education. I taught middle school English for 7 years. I left the classroom when I had my first child and decided to stay at home with her and pursue my passion for fitness and health. I now have two children and I am thrilled to be helping other women and families on their fitness journey. As women, we tend to focus on the needs of our family and others, and often put ourselves last. I feel we need an hour to be rejuvenated and focus on our health and well being so we can be the best US we can. How could one hour of your time create positive change in your life? Boot camp classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday from 5:45pm-6:45pm. The circuit and interval class is designed for all fitness levels; whether you are looking to get fit, maintain your current fitness level, or improve it, you will have fun and be challenged for the hour. Personal training is by appointment. You will have a personalized workout program designed for your specific fitness goals.

There are many that are OBSESSED with the number on the scale. If their magic number is on the scale in the morning, they have a bounce to their step and their day is great. If it isn’t what they want to see, their day is ruined and they go into a deep depression of self-loathing and despair. Yes, weight is important for health reasons, but it shouldn’t determine your self worth.

Numbers more important than those on the scale:

The number of times you said “YES” to a physical activity.
The number of times you chose healthy foods to fuel your body.
The number of times you challenged your thinking.
The number of times you changed a habit.
The number of times you tried something new.
The number of times you did something that scared you.
The number of times you succeeded.
The number of times you donated your time or money.
The number of times you came to a boot camp class.
The number of times you hugged a child.
The number of times you smiled at a stranger.
The number of times your body did something that amazed you.
The number of moments that took your breath away.
The number of people you have to support you and your goals.
The number of times you have reached your goals.
The number of times you helped others reach their goals.
The number of times you held your tongue.
The number of times you spoke your truth.
The number of times you saw beauty.
The number of times you enjoyed nature.
The number of times you walked your pet.
The number of times you comforted a friend.
The number of times you read a book.
The number of times you learned something new.
The number of times you created a new recipe.
The number of times you laughed at yourself.
The number of times you went out of your comfort zone.
The number of times you made a new friend.
The number of times you said I LOVE YOU.
The number of times you have heard I LOVE YOU.
The number of times you were told you are beautiful.

I challenge you to change the way you view your body. You are strong. You are beautiful. You can achieve anything you set your mind to.

I ran a half marathon over the weekend. I decided to take a different approach to my race day self talk. Usually, I would let my mind wander and if I got uncomfortable I would focus my attention on these thoughts...”My feet hurt” or “I only have 4 miles done...9 miles left”. I was letting my thoughts control me.
For this race, I controlled my thoughts. I dedicated each mile to someone I was grateful for. I knew my friend wanted to PR this race. I dedicated the first mile to her. I wished for her body and mind to be strong and carry her effortlessly across the finish line. I dedicated other miles to my family, kids, clients, husband, and of course myself.
The whole race I was filled with light and love. I never felt uncomfortable.
Self talk is ONE of the most important parts of a healthy lifestyle and fitness program.

Happy New Year!! 2020 is already bringing fun changes with !
I am now offering a Friday morning Bootcamp class from 9-10 at GR Herberger Park. The perfect time for you to sneak in a hour workout after you drop the kids off at school. Taking time to get a sweat session in is a great way to deal with any stressors you may encounter throughout your day.

I am thrilled to be a part of Opt Outside this Black Friday! and have put together an amazing lineup of FREE outdoor workouts for the community to join in.

Breakfast is my favorite meal. Today I made protein pancakes.
Blend together 1/2 cup of oats, 1/2 cup egg whites, two handfuls of spinach, a dash of cinnamon and vanilla. Pour out batter onto a hot pan. You should be able to make 4 or 5 thin pancakes. I topped mine with a scoop of almond butter.
