Imagine your family is expecting their fourth child. You live hours from the nearest hospital; there is no way you will get there in time. If there are complications, the lives of both mother and baby are at high risk! The day a baby is born should be a happy day, so .Midwifery is one of the cornerstones of our community health worker (CHW) training course. It is super cool, so come check it out on February 15th and see a demo of how we train our Promotoras, using state of the art birthing mannequins. Breach, babies, cord wrap, twins, and other complications are all covered in our course.

✨ Today, we celebrate 20 years of Tia Foundation. ✨

Twenty years ago, Laura Libman stepped forward with a vision rooted in compassion, perseverance, and deep belief in community-led healthcare. Through patience, steadfast leadership, and unwavering endurance, that vision has grown into what Tia is today, a global impact reaching over 1 million lives served.

This milestone belongs to Laura and to every person who has carried this mission forward. Our Promotores. Our team. Our partners. Our donors. Our volunteers. And the communities who welcomed us, trusted us, and grew alongside us. None of this happens alone.

Today also marks the beginning of a new chapter. We are proud to unveil Tia Foundation’s new logo, generously donated by LisaMacStudio. This gift represents more than a visual refresh, it reflects our growth, our resilience, and our commitment to the future. Thank you for lending your talent, creativity, and heart to this mission.

Join us for Tia’s Hearts for Health Fair on Sunday, February 15th for 12-3 PM at the Encanto Park Clubhouse in Phoenix, Arizona as we celebrate 20 years, 1 million lives served, and the countless lives still ahead. We did it! Tia has officially reached 1 million people with life-changing access to healthcare, all thanks to our Community Health Workers and our incredible brigade who trained them in midwifery, CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, nutrition, diabetes care, first aid, patient stabilization for hospital transport, and so much more.

A huge thank-you to every donor who has stood with us over these 20 years. And a big congratulations to our newest health workers from Valle de Guadalupe!

❤️ Los Altos Project Update

We’re officially underway in Los Altos, and the week is already full of special moments.

This program includes one of our youngest ever participants: Mari, a bright 10-year-old (turning 11 this week!) who is jumping into the course with incredible focus and heart. She’s quickly become a favorite of the entire brigade.

We also have a tiny new honorary brigade member on the team, Tadeo, Tamarha’s 2-year-old son, joining his mom for his very first Tia project. He’s been bringing smiles to every room we step into.

Moments like these remind us why this work matters. It’s about families, generations, and building a healthier future together.

Tia’s Historic Week ❤️

This week, the Tia Foundation launches one of the most important programs in our 20-year history... a project that brings us to our 1,000,000th life served.

Our team is on the ground in Valle de Guadalupe, in the heart of Los Altos de Jalisco, a region known for its resilience, community pride, and deep cultural roots. We’re also partnering with a neighboring municipality to expand the reach and impact of this program even further.

This moment carries deep personal significance for our organization. It’s not just a milestone, it’s home.

Los Altos is the hometown of our beloved brigade member, Tamarha, who has dedicated years to serving rural communities across Mexico. Her two-year-old son, Tadeo, is traveling with the team and is witnessing firsthand the same spirit of community service his mother grew up with.

As we stand on the threshold of 1 million lives served, we’re reminded that these numbers aren’t statistics, they’re stories. They represent families strengthened, communities stabilized, and generations empowered through sustainable, community-led healthcare.

Reaching this milestone in Tamarha’s homeland feels like a full-circle moment, a testament to why we do this work and who we do it for.
