Meet the Teacher!

We are incredibly excited to introduce another amazing instructor new to our team! Please join us in warmly welcoming the wonderful Melissa Schonberger to the Yoga’s Arc teaching family!

Here a little bit about Melissa...

Melissa is a 200-hour Vinyasa, Restorative, and Trauma-Informed Yoga teacher based in Phoenix, Arizona. A lifelong athlete, she has always found freedom and healing through movement—an anchor that supported her journey to sobriety and self-discovery.

Melissa was inspired to teach yoga after reading The Yoga Sutras and The Bhagavad Gita, where she was deeply moved by the timeless wisdom of these sacred texts. Her classes weave together pranayama, somatic movement, and yogic philosophy to create an experience that nourishes body, mind, and spirit.

With a compassionate and grounded approach, Melissa holds space for her students to reconnect with themselves on a deeper level—releasing tension, awakening awareness, and cultivating inner peace. She believes that yoga is not just a physical practice, but a sacred path of remembrance and transformation.

For Melissa, guiding others through yoga is both a privilege and an honor—an opportunity to help students rediscover the beauty, strength, and divinity within.

Don't miss out! Our incredible Teacher Trainings are starting up again this January. Find out how to join us.

Happy Sunday,

"Be a lamp, a life boat, a ladder. Help someone's soul heal. Walk out of your house like a shepherd." ~ Rumi

In the world we live in today, we need more Shepards, and in Yoga's Arc, we are a lineage that comes from SEVA, which means to serve in Sanskrit. Serving is what life is all about, and the more we give, it is truly amazing how much more we are blessed with.

To be a lamp, we have to shine our light. Our lights cannot be dimmed when we start and/or end our day with spiritual rituals that fill our cups and shine our lights bright. Some of my favorite resources I read from daily are: the Bible, A Course in Miracles, The Daily Stoic, The Sutras and many more (If I could I would spend hours and hours in my morning bean bag soaking up God's word to be more like Jesus every day, but I am grateful for an hour!). Make sure you take the time to fill your cup to shine your light, whatever that may look like.

To be a Life Boat, we must know how to take care of ourselves before we can rescue anyone else. Yoga requires us to peel the layers and do the work and self care which allows us to be life boats for others. A Life Boat for someone could be an ear, a shoulder, a hot meal, a roof for a while or some money to pay a bill.

To be someone's ladder, we need to learn how to lift others up. In order to lift others up, we need to practice on ourselves first. Having a daily gratitude practice can help with this! We can be a ladder for someone by smiling, giving a compliment, writing a gratitude letter or going out of our way to lift someone up.

During this holiday season, know that being a lamp, life boat and ladder can be the best gift you can ever give someone!

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule, CEO & Founder of Yoga's Arc

Strike a Pose!

Utthita Hasta Pādāṅguṣthāsana (Extended Hand to Big Toe Pose) doesn't come overnight, but it is a great pose to work toward!

Whether in a yoga class or not, you should practice balancing on one foot as often as you can to build strength and flexibility in your ankles and prevent falling when you trip over the most simple things.

Need Support? For extra stability as you work on this pose, you can:

- Hold the knee instead of reaching for the toe.

- Use a wall or a chair for balance.

Incorporating standing balancing yoga postures into your practice can also provide a holistic approach to your mental well-being. Balancing poses offer not only physical strength and stability but also mental resilience, focus, and emotional balance, contributing to a more grounded and harmonious lifestyle. So, the next time you're on your yoga mat, don't forget to embrace the challenge of balancing postures for their numerous physical and mental rewards.

Become the Confident and Successful Teacher the World Deserves

Do you have a passion to serve others?

At Yoga's Arc, we're dedicated to training teachers who make yoga truly accessible and welcoming—for every body.

Our Core Philosophy

200-Hour Program: Our foundational training goes beyond the postures, exploring how to adapt yoga for all shapes, sizes, abilities, and experiences that include trauma-sensitive approaches. Join us in building a more inclusive movement on the mat.

Advanced 300-Hour Training: Ready to deepen your expertise and amplify your impact? This program is designed to hone your skills, allowing you to confidently serve diverse and specialized populations.

Why Train with Yoga's Arc?

🔹 Accessibility: Yoga is for everyone, regardless of fitness level, flexibility, or physical limitations. We train teachers to offer variations and use props to ensure all students feel supported.

🔹 Inclusivity: The traditional yoga world has often excluded diverse bodies. At Yoga’s Arc, we’re breaking down those barriers, celebrating real people in a welcoming, judgment-free space.

🔹 Safety: No two bodies are the same. Our training includes anatomy and biomechanics so teachers can guide students safely and prevent injury.

🔹 Empowerment: When students feel seen and supported, yoga becomes transformative. We teach with inclusivity in mind, helping students cultivate self-acceptance and confidence.

Ready to make a difference?

Our Advanced 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training starts this January!
Our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training starts this March!

Perhaps this is the invitation you've been waiting for. We have a spot just for you!! ❤️

11/16/2025

Happy Sunday,

"Self-awareness is the mother of all virtues, turning us inward to see, reflect, and understand. Courage is the father of all virtues, daring us to act, sacrifice, and conquer." — Niraj

Self-awareness and courage are two powerful forces—the yin and yang of personal growth. Self-awareness teaches us responsibility, empathy, and reflection, helping us understand ourselves and those around us. Courage, on the other hand, fuels us to act thoughtfully, to face challenges, and to grow.

Yet, it can be difficult to cultivate both without taking time each day to ground ourselves in purposeful activities that fill our cups. It’s often easier to react or blame others than to look within and ask why we’re feeling the way we do. True courage is choosing self-awareness, examining our responses, and seeking growth instead of placing expectations on others. After all, "ignorance is bliss" for a reason!

Learning to focus on what we can control is challenging but incredibly empowering. At Yoga's Arc, we're here to support your self-awareness journey.

Explore our offerings and let us guide you toward a balanced life.

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule, CEO & Founder of Yoga's Arc

Strike a Pose!

Legs Up The Wall, AKA "Waterfall" is such a powerful and easily accessible pose whether you are at home or at work!

Practicing this pose allows your heart to rest. This positive effect combined with slow, conscious breathing reduces your blood pressure and your heart rate. The legs-up-the-wall pose activates the rest and-digest mode of your nervous system, called the parasympathetic system. It helps you lower any levels of anxiety, stress and insomnia.

Practicing this pose at work will relieve tired, cramped, and swollen feet and legs. Because of all these benefits you will naturally have more energy afterwards!

Meet the Teacher!

Meet Aubrey Mayre! We are thrilled to welcome Aubree as one of Yoga's Arc's newest instructors!

Aubree fearlessly dove into serving in our behavioral health programs, and her loving and intuitive gifts have become invaluable in these vulnerable environments. We we so grateful for her and excited to witness her teaching journey in these important programs.

A Little Bit About Aubree...

Aubree holds a BA in Early Childhood Education from ASU. With a lifelong passion for education and movement, Aubree found her outlet in exercise and playing outdoors, making bodily-kinesthetics her main intelligence. After earning her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), she is now deepening her knowledge with her 300-hour YTT through Yoga’s Arc.

Aubree created her business, Radiate From Within, to empower and support others in self-advocacy, an approach based on her own life experiences.

In addition to yoga, her specialties include Reiki and Essential Oil Wellness. Her teaching specializations are broad, including children's, all levels, family, trauma-informed yoga, and yoga for mental health.

In her spare time, you can find her playing outside, reading, studying, cooking/baking, or taking a nap, often accompanied by her three children. Her goal is to experience all the things in all the places.

Aubree is grateful for finding her place through yoga and feels honored to work with Yoga’s Arc as both a professional and a student. She believes this supportive environment is where she will flourish in her career and life.

Yoga’s Arc

We were born out of a passion for outreach. After practicing yoga for the last 20 years, Kary Sinkule began wondering how she could bring yoga to those who need it most- the overworked, the unable, and the under-served. To reach these people, convenience was the name of the game. The movement had to be fueled by flexibility and a willingness to join people in every step of the journey. So we thought outside the four walls of our studio and created Yoga's Arc.

A year later, we're even more energized to keep changing the mindset of what yoga can look like. To us, yoga looks like coworkers sharing in morning rejuvenation. Yoga looks like a healing breakthrough for a stroke survivor in her own living room. Yoga looks exactly how you envision it. With more than 20 instructors across the Valley, we're growing fast, and we're excited to meet you wherever you are in your yoga journey.
