Happy Sunday!

Do you take the time to reflect?

Self-reflection is difficult if we are not confident in our own skin. Perspective on embracing errors as gifts in opportunities for growth and change is something that takes practice, and is so rewarding once we get there!

I was always under the belief that every action had a consequence and someone to blame, I was always paranoid and fearful of making mistakes for whatever reasons. There are so many beliefs formed from our upbringings, schools and social groups it is amazing the patterns we form without even thinking about it!

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is grace. The grace to always give your best and embrace mistakes as opportunities to grow and try new things! Systems and Miracles are born from errors that were meant to be, and once we embrace them instead of taking them personally, we will find the diamonds in the ruffs of the darkness of negative thought and doubt.

When we don't take the time to reflect on our actions and outcomes and to listen to our Higher Power for guidance, we get caught up in just mindlessly following like sheep: commercials, social media, and worldly desires versus what we were put on this earth to do and fulfill. When we make the decision to stay sleep walking versus reflect, it will catch up with us through experience, and as Confucius states...

"By three methods we may learn wisdom. First, by reflection, which is the noblest. Second, by imitation, which is the easiest. And third by experience, which is the bitterest."

The way you choose to approach your life is up to you, which method will you choose? And of course, meditation is the path to mindfulness, and mindfulness is the path to self reflection.

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule, CEO & Founder of Yoga's Arc

Strike a Chair Pose!

Chair yoga, often underestimated, holds its own power and significance comparable to traditional asana practice. Chair yoga is a valuable and powerful form of yoga that offers numerous benefits for physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Chair yoga offers unparalleled convenience by requiring minimal equipment, space, and time, making it accessible to individuals of all ages and abilities. Its flexibility and adaptability allow for easy incorporation into daily routines, making it a convenient and practical option for improving overall well-being.

Here’s a few benefits….

1. Adaptability: There are different options to suit individual needs and comfort levels, allowing for a personalized practice.

2. Strength Building: Engages key muscle groups to promote strength and stability, even with the support of a chair.

3. Flexibility and Range of Motion: Gentle stretches and movements improve flexibility and increase joint mobility.

4. Mindfulness and Breathwork: Emphasizes mindfulness and deep breathing techniques to reduce stress and promote relaxation.

5. Balance and Coordination: Challenges balance and coordination, enhancing stability and reducing the risk of falls.

6. Emotional and Mental Well-being: Promotes emotional resilience, reduces anxiety, and fosters a sense of inner peace.

7. Community and Connection: Provides a supportive environment for individuals to connect and share their yoga journey.

8. Accessibility: Chair yoga makes yoga available to everyone, including seniors, those with limited mobility, and individuals in a corporate environment who spend long hours sitting at a desk.

Chair yoga offers a holistic approach to wellness, addressing physical, emotional, and mental health needs while fostering inclusivity and a sense of belonging. Whether practiced in a corporate setting, at home, or in a community space, it offers a holistic approach to wellness that is accessible to all.

Meet the Teacher!

Meet Josh .r.rothman! As an invaluable lead teacher for our Yoga Teacher Trainings, Josh has become an integral part of our team. With years of experience and deep passion, he inspires our trainees to approach yoga in dynamic, impactful ways. We are so grateful to have his expertise and wisdom in our community!

Here’s a little bit about Josh…

Josh Rothman is a 500-hour Master Yoga Instructor, Certified Personal Trainer, and Mat/Reformer Pilates teacher. His practice began as a recovery path for soccer injuries, leading to a professional teaching career that started in 2005. Josh has taught in diverse settings, including studios, universities, and corporate environments.

Josh gears his classes to a holistic approach in exploring and coping with past injuries (and, as best as possible, the prevention of future ones), highlighting how movement restores both mind and body.

Josh has trained with programs like Inner Vision Yoga and SWIHA, studying under masters such as Paulie Zink and Paul Grilley. He hosts specialized workshops on yoga for athletes, inversions, and themed flows, as well as international retreats.

With post-graduate work in justice studies, political philosophy, and religious studies, Josh is a jnana yogi who values intellectual paths to the true self. In 2022, he added a Mind/Body Health Nutrition Coach certification to his toolkit, furthering his passion for holistic health and happiness.

Outside of wellness, Josh enjoys playing musical instruments, reading, and staying active in the world of sports.

Happy Sunday!

At Yoga's Arc, we believe that pausing and slowing down is one of the greatest forms of self-care. It’s a gift we all deserve to give ourselves.

While setting goals and working toward accomplishments is important, it’s equally essential to take time to pause, rest, and listen to what your body and mind are trying to communicate. True health and wellness require balance, and that includes moments of stillness.

For many, slowing down can feel uncomfortable—even a little scary. It creates space to notice emotions and sensations we might otherwise avoid. But if we keep running from what’s within, it will eventually catch up with us. Instead, let’s take a step back, embrace those emotions, and honor the messages our bodies are sending.

What are your favorite ways to stop, pause, and recharge? We’d love to hear from you! If you’re not sure how to begin slowing down, we’re here to guide you.

Yoga offers a pathway to reconnect with yourself—one breath, one pose, one moment at a time.

Take the first step toward slower, more mindful self-care with us.

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule, CEO & Founder of Yoga's Arc

Strike a Pose!

Don't try this on your own as fun as it may look! Make sure you have a teacher guiding you through the steps to access the benefits of this pose!

Upward Facing Bow is an extremely challenging pose that strengthens the back side of the body and opens the front. It is also sometimes called Wheel, but it is definitely not this pose at all! Wheel (Cakrasana) is a backward summersault during a Salutation, which is even more challenging than Upward Facing Bow (Urdhva Dhanurasana). But never fear! There are so many other options for Urdhva Dhanurasana!

Bridge Pose (Setu Bandhasana) is a great pose that is accessible and can bring the same benefits! There are so many bridge pose variations that you may find taught in our All Levels Yoga Classes, virtually or in person. They are common in most classes, and can be very energizing!

Some prefer to access the same benefits of these poses that stretch the front body by using a block under their sacrum or by laying on their sides holding the top ankle to get a front body stretch one leg at a time.

Finding Peace Behind Walls🧘‍♀️🕊️

In a place where walls define everything, yoga provides the one thing that can’t be locked away: inner freedom.

For the women and youth in our Yoga’s Arc Prison Programs, these sessions are more than just movement. They are a sanctuary. In an environment where every minute is scheduled and every space is shared, these sessions offer something rare: a quiet window for self-reflection. This program provides the room these women and youth need to breathe, find their center, and focus on their own personal growth.

⚠️ We are at a critical turning point. Because of a severe lack of funding, these programs are on the verge of ending. If we lose this program, we lose a vital lifeline for those fighting to find their way back to themselves. We cannot let these mats be rolled up for good.

Your Contribution, Your Choice

We believe in total transparency. Just $85 provides one full class and 100% of your gift goes directly to our instructors and operation costs. You can donate into the general fund or choose exactly who you want to support today:

💗 Women’s Prison Program or Juvenile Detention Program🌱

Please help us keep this sanctuary alive. A second chance at healing shouldn’t have boundaries.

Meet the Teacher!

Meet Cassie Yazzie! Cassie has completed both Yoga's Arc 200-Hour and 300-Hour YTT Programs, and we are so proud of her incredible journey. It has been a true blessing and joy to witness her growth and dedication. We CAN’T WAIT to share her inspiring story with you!

Here’s a little bit about Cassie…

Cassie discovered Yoga's Arc through their inspiring yoga-in-the-park program and quickly fell in love with the practice. Taking a leap of faith, she joined the 200-hour teacher training program and graduated in November of 2023. Shortly after, she made another bold decision to leave her full-time job and pursue her passion for teaching yoga full-time.

Since then, Cassie has taught over 464 classes and counting, and she founded her own yoga business, All In Yoga. Driven by her personal transformation and the profound benefits of yoga, she embarked on further training and achieved her 500-hour RYT certification in November 2024.

Cassie is passionate about sharing yoga's transformative power and encourages everyone to give it a try. Yoga changed her life, and she is dedicated to helping others discover its potential to do the same.

Happy Sunday!

What does enlightenment mean to you?

When you see yourself as a wave that is part of the ocean, how does that shift your perspective on self, connection, and existence? (Before you read any further, put what comes to your mind in the comments if you are comfortable inspiring others with your insight...)

So what does it mean that we are enlightened when we realize we are one wave in the ocean? We all need other people's insight to see other points of views sometimes, it just helps.

Does it mean that we are enlightened when we realize that…

We are all one?
We are all humans that have no separation from each other?
We should show compassion because they could be us?
Should we show empathy to work to relate to someone that may think differently?
or look different?
or pray different?
or do yoga different than me?

I would bet it is safe to say that there are so many paths to enlightenment that we have all connected to one or some of them.

Whatever your perspective is that helps bring you your personal enlightenment journey, know it will look different than everyone else's.

The important thing is that you allow yourself the opportunity of working to arrive there.

Yoga is always a good idea to practice on a regular basis to help reach enlightenment.

Follow us, Yoga with us and we will show you how.

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule, CEO & Founder of Yoga's Arc

Strike a Pose!

As we step into the new year, it’s the perfect time to focus on building strength, balance, and a solid foundation—both on and off the mat.

Enter Virabhadrasana III, or Warrior III Pose! This empowering posture helps us cultivate stability and endurance, reminding us of our ability to stand strong while staying balanced.

Tips for Practicing Warrior III:

Start with support! Use the back of a couch or a sturdy chair until you feel comfortable balancing on your mat.

Keep a straight line from head to the elevated leg—focus more on alignment than height.

Tip the upper body forward while keeping the chest and heart open.

Keep arms at sides to start, or challenge yourself by extending biceps alongside the ears!

Why Practice Warrior III?

This pose builds physical and mental strength, enhances balance, and improves flexibility. It’s the perfect metaphor for entering the new year with focus, stability, and confidence—creating a strong foundation to support your goals and intentions.

If you’re looking to deepen your balancing practice, we’re here to help! Join our Trauma-Informed Yoga Teaher Trainings! Let’s start 2026 on solid ground, together.

Yoga’s Arc

We were born out of a passion for outreach. After practicing yoga for the last 20 years, Kary Sinkule began wondering how she could bring yoga to those who need it most- the overworked, the unable, and the under-served. To reach these people, convenience was the name of the game. The movement had to be fueled by flexibility and a willingness to join people in every step of the journey. So we thought outside the four walls of our studio and created Yoga's Arc.

A year later, we're even more energized to keep changing the mindset of what yoga can look like. To us, yoga looks like coworkers sharing in morning rejuvenation. Yoga looks like a healing breakthrough for a stroke survivor in her own living room. Yoga looks exactly how you envision it. With more than 20 instructors across the Valley, we're growing fast, and we're excited to meet you wherever you are in your yoga journey.
