Sound familiar?
As a psychologist, I see how toxic positivity can silence real emotions.
When we skip straight to optimism, we bypass healing.
And when people feel they can’t express pain—they suppress it instead.
Real support sounds like:
🗣️ “I’m here with you.”
🧠 “It makes sense you feel that way.”
🤝 “You don’t have to fix it to talk about it.”
Validation isn’t wallowing. It’s the first step to healing.
