One Day at Phoenix Children’s Hospital is a collection of over 200 photographs from our archive of almost 10,000 images that document the astounding events that happen on a daily basis at the Hospital. I hope that you will be as inspired by the stories told through these images as were the photographers who narrated them.

Corey Schwartz is not a photographer by trade. In fact, he’s a numbers guy working as the fund manager for Caliber Companies’ Distressed Asset Income Fund. Photography, he says, is a “very high-level hobby” and a creative outlet to counteract his left-brained professional work.

I'd like to introduce you to Maddy Lewis. This photo was taken by Stuart Thurkil of Eyes 2 See. Maddy is a beautiful seven year old girl that captured all of our hearts. She has Neuroblastoma a form of cancer that can occur spontaneously in children. She recently had a bone marrow transplant. No matter how much pain she was in she was always smiling. The Ottosen Family Blood and Marrow Transplant Program uses stem cell transplants to help patients renew the building blocks that create healthy cells. You can find more photos of Maddy and all the PCH kids at www.OneDayAtPCH.com. Please like us and share!

Anna Kuperberg is based in San Francisco and is one of the countries top photographers at photographing Weddings, Children & Dogs. We were so thrilled when she agreed to document the Pet Therapy program for One Day at Phoenix Children's Hospital project.

Pictured here is 5 year old Santos who has Leukemia. He immediately connected with Gus a 250-pound English Mastiff. Animal assisted therapy acts as a catalyst to motivate young patients to help themselves. A child who stubbornly refuses to get up and walk after surgery or make an effort to play will happily take a dog for a walk or play catch with them. The Phoenix Children's Hospital has over 40 volunteer therapy dogs. We can't thank Anna Kuperberg Photography enough for capturing these wonderful images.

Victoria Rogowski found the cutest sock to put on little Gavin's feet. Gavin is suffering from from Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). CDH occurs when the diaphragm doesn’t fully form allowing abdominal organs into the chest cavity and preventing lung growth. CDH occurs in 1 of every 2,500 births making it roughly as common as Spina Bifida and Cystic Fibrosis.
