Most people think recovering from oral surgery is just about popping pain meds and waiting it out. It’s not. 🦷

Your body is doing serious repair work after a procedure and what you do (or don’t do) in the first 72 hours makes a huge difference in how fast you heal.

Here’s what actually matters: 🩸 Protect the blood clot. It’s the foundation of your healing. No straws, no spitting, no smoking anything that creates suction can pull it out and lead to dry socket (trust us, you don’t want that).

💧 Stay hydrated. Especially here in Arizona the heat works against you. Cool water throughout the day keeps your body in healing mode.

😴 Actually rest. We know life doesn’t stop, but 48 hours of real downtime gives your body the best shot at a smooth recovery.

🥣 Eat soft, gentle foods. Yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies your jaw will thank you. Save the chips for week two.

🧊 Ice + elevation. 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off for the first day. Sleep propped up on two pillows to keep swelling down.

Pain that’s getting worse after day 3 isn’t normal that’s your sign to call us. We’re always here to answer questions throughout your recovery, not just on the day of your procedure.
