Staying hydrated during pregnancy is more important than many people realize. 💧

Proper hydration supports:
• Healthy amniotic fluid levels
• Nutrient circulation to baby
• Prevention of headaches and dizziness
• Reduced risk of dehydration related contractions

Aim to drink 8 to 12 cups of water per day, and even more during Arizona’s warmer months.
A simple tip: carry a water bottle with you throughout the day as an easy reminder to keep sipping.

To schedule a prenatal appointment at New Horizons Women’s Care, text or call our office at 480-895-9555.

Feeling your baby move is one of the most reassuring parts of pregnancy. As you enter the third trimester, paying attention to your baby’s movements can help you recognize what is normal for your little one.

Kick counts are a simple way to monitor your baby’s well being. Choose a time when your baby is usually active, sit or lie down, and time how long it takes to feel 10 movements such as kicks, rolls, or flutters. Most babies will move 10 times within 2 hours, often much sooner.

Getting to know your baby’s normal movement patterns is important. If you notice a decrease in movement or something feels different than usual, contact your OBGYN provider.

Trust your instincts. You know your body and your baby best!💕

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of the uterus. This tissue still responds to hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle, which can cause irritation, inflammation, and the formation of scar tissue called adhesions.

Symptoms can vary, but may include:
• Severe menstrual cramps or pelvic pain
• Bleeding between periods
• Lower abdominal pain or painful bowel movements
• Pain during in*******se
• Difficulty conceiving
• Nausea or fatigue

While many women experience noticeable symptoms, others may not realize they have endometriosis until they are trying to conceive or undergo surgery for another reason.

If you are experiencing symptoms or have concerns, talk with your New Horizons Women’s Care provider. Early evaluation can help us create a treatment plan that supports your health and quality of life.

Call or text our office at 480-895-9555 to schedule an appointment. Your health matters, and we are here to support you every step of the way. 💛

Diastasis Recti: What Every Woman Should Know 💛

Diastasis recti is the separation of the abdominal muscles that can occur during pregnancy as your growing uterus stretches the connective tissue between the muscles. While it’s common postpartum, it can also affect women who have never been pregnant.

You might notice:
• A “pooch” or bulge in the midline of your abdomen
• Core weakness
• Lower back pain
• Difficulty engaging your abdominal muscles
• A visible doming or coning when sitting up

Early evaluation matters. Left unaddressed, it can contribute to back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction, and hernias.

If you’re postpartum and concerned about abdominal separation, bring it up at your wellness visit. We can help assess and guide you toward safe, effective treatment options, because recovery after baby deserves just as much attention as pregnancy. 💗

Your health is worth prioritizing💗

If it’s been a while since your last mammogram or you’ve been putting it off, consider this your reminder to schedule it. Early detection saves lives, and routine screenings are one of the most powerful tools we have in the fight against breast cancer.

At New Horizons Women’s Care, we offer 3D mammography (also known as digital breast tomosynthesis)- advanced imaging that provides a clearer, more detailed view of breast tissue.

3D mammograms can:
✨Detect cancers earlier
✨Improve accuracy in women with dense breast tissue
✨Reduce the need for call-backs and additional imaging
✨Provide greater peace of mind

Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential.

Call or text our office at 480-895-9555 to schedule your mammogram and stay proactive about your health. 💕

Should I be tested for an STI?

If you’re sexually active, STI testing is an important part of protecting your health, even if you don’t have symptoms.

In fact, over 20 million new STIs occur each year in the U.S., and many go undiagnosed because they can be silent. When left untreated, certain infections can lead to long-term complications, including infertility.

At New Horizons Women’s Care, we provide confidential, judgment-free STI testing and treatment in a safe, supportive environment. Whether you have symptoms, a new partner, or simply want peace of mind, we’re here to help you take control of your health.

The postpartum period is about more than healing physically, it is also about supporting you.

Hormone shifts, emotional changes, pelvic floor recovery, and deep exhaustion can all be part of this season. But if you’re feeling persistently overwhelmed, anxious, numb, tearful, or not like yourself, that matters too.

At New Horizons Women’s Care, we don’t just check on your physical recovery. We also provide postpartum depression screenings because your mental and emotional well-being are just as important as your physical healing.

Postpartum mood changes are common and treatable. We’re here to care for and support mothers long after delivery day, with compassionate, judgment-free care in every chapter of life.
