Some invitations are just calendar noise. This one is a little different.

All Together Now: Care. Connection. Community. is a live reset for Black women who are used to holding it all together. For one evening, you are not the strong one, the fixer, or the backup plan. You are the one being held.

We are bringing together something special
Two Black women physicians who see the whole you:
Dr Joy Baker, an OB with deep expertise in perinatal emotional health
and
Dr Chyna Hill of The Black Girls Mental Health Foundation, a psychologist grounded in Black women’s mental wellness.

This is not another “how to do more” session. It is a guided pause. A chance to check in with your body, tell the truth about how you are really doing, and hear from expert voices who understand the weight you carry and the joy you still want to feel.

For one night, we will:

* trade the “strong Black woman” script for honest conversation
* explore what real care could look like for you this year
* remember that community is something we can build on purpose

If your spirit has been whispering that something has to change, consider this your sign.

Join us for All Together Now and leave with one or two grounding practices you can take into the rest of 2026, and the reminder that you never have to carry all of this by yourself.

2026 has been life lifing a little too hard. The news is heavy, the group chats stay busy, and some days it feels like you are carrying three different storms in one body and still expected to smile. But who is holding you.

Join these powerhouse women for an honest, nonjudgmental conversation about care, connection, and community: Dr Joy Baker and Dr Chyna Hill of The Black Girls Mental Health Foundation.

Together we will challenge the stereotypes placed on Black women and our emotional well being, talk frankly about what we are carrying, name where connection already lives and where it is missing, and claim community as something we intentionally build and choose.

Join us and leave more grounded, more connected, and more committed to your own wellbeing.

Alright, let’s settle a few things because these myths have been running around like they pay rent.

Myth #1: “If I don’t drop a big donation, it doesn’t count.”
Truth: Please?! Every gift matters. Ten dollars, twenty-five, two-fifty — it all helps us keep this work moving.

Myth #2: “Y’all must be living off these donations.”
Truth: Not even close. We are fully volunteer-led. CEO, Executive Director, program leads — everybody is giving their time, not taking a salary.

Myth #3: “If I missed Giving Tuesday, I might as well wait till next year.”
Truth: Nope. Your support matters today, tomorrow, and any day you feel moved to give. No special holiday required.

When you support Birthing the Magic Collaborative, you help keep our guidance free, culturally grounded, and accessible to Black women and the families who love them.

Long story short: Your giving fuels the work — not the people.

The last few weeks showed us again what happens when Black pregnant women are not heard or protected. These incidents are not isolated. They reveal what occurs when care is not culturally humble or grounded in understanding.

At Birthing the Magic Collaborative, we meet these moments with action. We give Black birthing families clear lifesaving knowledge, and we support medical professionals who want to strengthen the care they provide. Our work is to bridge the divide between community and clinical practice.

We offer short, accessible micro lessons and live sessions with trusted clinicians so families can raise concerns and be met with affirmation, expertise, and dignity. People encounter our content through doula networks, clinic programs, faith communities, community partners, and our growing YouTube library.

We also collaborate with Dr. Shalon’s Maternal Action Project to elevate the SHALON Blueprint for Anti Biased Care, and we work with Connection Lab to help create more relational and culturally responsive models of care.

Education is protection. It is not a burden Black women should carry alone. We should be able to trust those trained and compensated to care for us. Until that trust is fully earned, knowledge and community remain essential.

Birthing the Magic Collaborative is committed to advancing that work and supporting families and professionals who want a safer, more culturally attuned system of care.

Today we pause with gratitude for the families we serve and the communities that trust us to walk alongside them. At Birthing the Magic Collaborative, we are thankful for every mother, father, grandparent, and caregiver who shows up with courage, hope, and love in a system that has not always honored their humanity.

We are grateful for the educators, clinicians, doulas, researchers, and partners who share their wisdom and commit to strengthening culturally humble care. We are also thankful for the community voices that continue to remind us what is possible when knowledge, trust, and compassion come together.

This season reminds us that belonging and safety are not luxuries. They are birthrights. And nothing matters more than ensuring that every woman is supported, respected, and believed on her journey to motherhood.

From our family to yours, thank you for being part of this work. May your day be filled with peace, warmth, and moments that affirm the magic you bring to the world.

Our workshop with Book Harvest is now available on our YouTube channel. This session celebrates the power of early storytelling, lullabies, and cultural traditions in shaping a baby’s earliest learning. From bonding to brain development, we walk through why the words we speak and the stories we share matter from day one.

Introducing Two Essential Workshops for Every Birthing Family and Their Village
Premature birth is not a rare story, it’s a reality that touches millions.
When 15% of babies are born too early, it means each of us knows families who have faced this risk. And when complications happen, the impact ripples far beyond the delivery room.

That’s why we’re offering two powerful workshops designed to inform, prepare, and strengthen the entire village that surrounds a birthing person.

➡️ Before the Due Date: Changing the Story on Premature Birth
Wednesday, November 19 | 7:00 PM ET

This workshop is your chance to get ahead of the curve. Learn what’s normal, what’s not, and what early changes deserve action. Move beyond myths and get grounded in clear, practical steps that protect pregnancy.

You’ll gain:
• Tools to spot early signs of preterm labor
• Habits that support a safer pregnancy
• What to ask during prenatal visits to protect yourself
• Guidance from Dr. Joy and Dr. J, two fierce advocates for maternal health

This is for expectant families — and for every doula, auntie, partner, and friend who wants to be prepared.

➡️ Strength in the Struggle: Lessons from a Complex Birth Journey
Thursday, November 20 | 7:30 PM ET

If Wednesday is about prevention, Thursday is about truth. Here, we learn from lived experience.
Lauren’s delivery shifted from calm to critical in minutes — she endured multiple surgeries, a coma, and a fight for her life. Yet her twins are now thriving. Her story carries lessons every family, birth worker, and provider needs to hear.

You’ll walk away with:
• Real strategies for advocating through fear, confusion, and chaos
• Insights on navigating bias, unexpected complications, and recovery
• A deeper understanding of what families need from their village
• Strength, solidarity, and hope

This is for anyone supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum — especially when things don’t go as planned.

📣 Why These Two Workshops Matter Together
☝🏽 One workshop teaches us how to act early.
✌🏽 The other shows us what it takes to survive the unexpected.

👥 Whether you’re an expectant parent or part of someone’s village, these sessions give you confidence, clarity, and community.

Join us for both. Share with your circle. Show up informed.

Nearly 15% of Black babies are born prematurely. That’s not a statistic we can look away from — it’s a call to action.

"Before the Due Date: Changing the Story on Premature Birth" is more than a workshop. It’s a chance for all of us to understand what leads to early labor, recognize the signs sooner, and learn how informed action can shift outcomes for our families.

If we want healthier beginnings and safer births, we have to show up for conversations like this — for ourselves, for the women we love, and for every baby whose story deserves time to unfold.

Join Dr. Janet Williams, a nationally recognized midwife, and Dr. Joy Baker, an equally esteemed OB-GYN, as they guide us through this essential conversation.
