Makeup SPF does not count as your sunscreen.
To actually get SPF 30 from your foundation, you’d need about 10–14 pumps, and let’s be honest, no one is applying that much.
Always apply a dedicated sunscreen first. Makeup SPF is a bonus, not your base protection.

Share this with someone who thinks their foundation is enough.

BBL vs Moxi, how do you know which one is right for your skin?

If you’re noticing brown spots or redness, BBL is often my go-to to help target pigment and vascular concerns.

If your main issue is texture, think tiny bumps, fine lines, enlarged pores, or mild pigment, Moxi is an incredible option for smoothing and refining the skin.

And the best part? Many patients benefit from combining both treatments for a more comprehensive result.

When your coworker is a little bit different, but they're always there for you

Spring Break is almost here and I need you to hear this:
Just one sunburn when you’re young can dramatically increase your risk of melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
And if that doesn’t get your attention… just one burn can also accelerate lines, pigmentation, freckles, and premature aging.
Sun damage isn’t just temporary. It shows up years later.
Be sun smart. Wear your SPF. Reapply. Protect your future skin.
Your glow should come from good skincare, not UV damage

Is it acne… or folliculitis? 👀

If you’re seeing tiny, uniform bumps in a hair-bearing area, especially where clothing or athletic wear rubs, it may not be acne at all.
Folliculitis is irritation of the hair follicle. It can feel tender, burn, or itch and here’s the catch: acne products can actually make it worse.
If your “acne” isn’t responding the way it should, it might be time to rethink the diagnosis.
Not all bumps are acne and treatment matters.

🚫 Stop popping your pimples.
Especially cysts, they can scar and get infected fast.

This is a reminder for my teenage patients (and parents): popping acne with unclean hands can lead to permanent scarring. Instead, use hydrocolloid pimple patches overnight to help calm inflammation and reduce damage.

If breakouts are persistent, prescription treatments like benzoyl peroxide or combination therapies can help, but acne is an inflammatory skin condition and should be treated properly.

When in doubt, see your board-certified dermatologist. Your future skin will thank you.

2025 brought a lot of skincare trends… and a lot of barrier damage.

Here’s what we’re leaving behind:
• Over-exfoliating every single day
• DIY at-home microneedling
• Using face oils as “sunscreen”

Daily exfoliants are wrecking your barrier. Actives need rest days. And oils are not SPF,they can actually increase your risk of sunburn.

Your skin does better with less, not more.
Healthy skin doesn’t thrive on extremes.

Save this before you damage your barrier.

2026 dermatology trends are in
Here’s what Dr. Price is seeing lead the conversation this year:
• Exosomes
• Peptides
• And of course the tried-and-true staples: Vitamin C, antioxidants, hyaluronic acid, retinol/Retin-A, and sunscreen.

New innovations are exciting, but the foundation of healthy skin never changes. The key is knowing how to layer and personalize these correctly.

Have stubborn hyperpigmentation, melasma, or sunspots that won’t budge?
Let us introduce one of our favorite ingredients: Arbutase

Arbutase helps inhibit melanin production by blocking tyrosinase, the enzyme that creates pigment in the skin. Unlike hydroquinone, it’s more gentle, causes less irritation, and won’t trigger redness (which can actually make pigmentation worse).

What we love at SkinScience is that Arbutase can be used year-round, no breaks needed, and it pairs beautifully with tretinoin or retinol for added resurfacing benefits.

Have you tried Arbutase before? Tell us your results below 👇

Does your sunscreen pill up? 👀
It’s usually not the SPF; it’s what’s underneath it.

Too many serums or heavy moisturizers can cause sunscreen to ball up instead of sink in. Stick to lighter textures, and give each product a minute to absorb before layering the next.

Smooth SPF = better protection ✨
Save this for your morning routine.
