📢AzHHA is proud to announce that the seventh cohort of the Arizona Transition to Practice Program for New Graduate Registered Nurses has commenced!

🏥This program supports and develops new nurses, provides evidence-based professional development, accelerates the novice nurse to a competent nurse more rapidly and addresses resilience and emergency preparedness. AzHHA is proud to work with a national curriculum vendor, OpusVi (Latin for workforce), to deliver this program.

🙌The Arizona Transition to Practice Program is made possible by funding and support provided by the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) and the Governor’s Office. We’re grateful for their backing so that we can tackle this important work.

Think of uncompensated care as the “safety net” when life gets hard; hospitals step in.

In Arizona, our hospitals gave over $530 million in 2023 to care for people regardless of a patient's ability to pay. It’s a promise hospitals keep every day because they cherish human life and care for all, no matter what. 🩺💙

Flu season typically peaks in the winter months here in Arizona, and seasonal influenza viruses circulate most often from October - May, with activity commonly highest December - February.

It’s a reminder that staying informed and proactive helps protect you and your loved ones.

🌡️ Tip: Prevent the spread by washing hands often, covering coughs/sneezes, and staying home when you’re sick.

Hospitals providing uncompensated care aren’t just “giving away” services, they’re absorbing real costs so families don’t go without care.

That shows Arizona’s hospitals’ deep commitment to community health.
