🧠 Proprioception is a powerful sensory system that tells kids where their body is—even with eyes closed! When their gears are under-fueled or over-revved, it can show up as rough‑housing, chewing, sluggishness, or emotional shutdown.✨ With the right ā€œheavy workā€ activities—like pushing, jumping, carrying or squeezing—kids can strengthen focus, movement, and emotional regulation. Simple play + small adjustments = big growth. šŸ’Ŗ

Want to learn more about this amazing sensory system? Leave a šŸ’Ŗ below and we will send you a link to our article all about it!

🚩 Self-regulation isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Every child manages emotions, impulses, and attention a little differently. But sometimes certain behavior patterns can signal a child may need extra support with self-regulation skills.

Recognizing these early can help parents, teachers, and professionals with evaluations, goal-setting, and tracking progress.

"Other Mothers" is a great way for parents to help each other out!

From My Heart to Yours šŸ’›
My name is Sherri, and I’ve owned Other Mothers for 45 years. I started this store when I was just 21 years old—a single mom who wanted to be able to bring her baby to work with her. What began as a necessity turned into a lifelong passion and a community I have been so proud to serve.
Today, I need to be honest with you. We are struggling.
Increased costs of doing business and a shift to more sellers than buyers have put us in real danger of having to close our doors.
This is incredibly hard for me to say, but I believe in transparency and in the community that has supported us for decades.
šŸ’³ If you have store credit, we strongly encourage you to come in soon and use any remaining balance.
šŸ›ļø We are restocking daily with a tremendous amount of back stock and offering sales to help move inventory.
šŸ¤ We are accepting donations only at this time, and while donations won’t receive payment, they truly help us keep going—and you can still shop our sale when you visit.
How can you help?
• Shop with us
• Donate if you’re able
• Spread the word about Other Mothers
If we are able to get through this crisis, we are committed to making changes—getting more organized, tightening things up, and buying more of what our customers truly need—so we can continue to serve you for years to come.
Thank you for 45 years of support, kindness, and belief in this little store that started with one mom and one baby. Your support right now means more than I can ever put into words. šŸ’›
