With extreme temperatures, practice heat safety to protect your health and that of our park rangers and Arizona's first responders.

There are still opportunities to enjoy nature, but remember these important safety precautions...
🌡️ Check the forecast and save your bacon by staying out of extreme temperatures
⏰ Enjoy the outdoors early in the morning before temperatures rise. Stay indoors during extreme heat
🥾 Stick to less strenuous trails during those sunrise walks
💧 Stay hydrated, bring more water than you think you'll need, and salty snacks
🥵 Know your own limits and turn around before your water is half gone and your energy is zapped

The trail will always be there another day with better weather. Make sure you are too! Put safety first. Get more heat safety info at azstateparks.com/summer-heat-safety-tips.

Come share your thoughts, grab a coffee, and be part of the conversation.

☕ Community Coffee with LD 5 Representative Sarah Liguori

🌱 Afterward, head over to the Mountain View Community Garden where we’ll be making seed packets together.

About NOMO

The North Mountain Visitor Center gives guests an up-close and personal tour of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve and the plants and animals that make up the beautiful area surrounding the Center.

Displays, classes, and workshops are offered to interpret and understand the Sonoran Desert found right outside the Center’s doors. Visitors to the Center will gain new insights into the richness and diversity of this landscape.

A series of trails adjacent to the center mean that desert exploration is just a step away. The Center is also a good stop for those planning a longer, more challenging hike, in this part of the Preserve.
