Working with this family during those first tender months with Penelope was truly a gift đŸ€
From the very beginning, it was an honor to support them as they found their rhythm, gained confidence, and learned their beautiful baby. Being trusted during such an intimate season of life is something I never take lightly.
One moment that stands out was noticing that something didn’t quite feel right with feeding. Trusting my experience, I gently suggested a lactation evaluation with a LC I often refer to. That was something that ultimately led to discovering Penelope’s tongue, lip, and buccal ties. Seeing her thrive after receiving the right support was incredibly rewarding and a reminder of how impactful early, informed care can be.
Families like this are why I do this work. The connection, the trust, and the ability to make a meaningful difference during the postpartum period will always be what I love most about supporting new parents.
Forever grateful to be part of your story đŸ€

Where Did the Baby Go? đŸ€
This book has stayed with me for a lifetime.
It’s the story of a little girl who finds a photo of a baby and begins searching for her, looking all around the house, wondering where she could have gone. And by the end of the book, she realizes the truth: the baby didn’t go anywhere.
She grew up. She became her.
My mom read this to me when I was little, and now, after nearly 28 years of supporting families in the newborn and early childhood stages, it feels even more meaningful. It gently captures how fleeting those early years are and how babies are always still there, just growing and becoming.
This book is such a special reminder that the moments we’re living now will one day be memories. Stories like this don’t just entertain children they quietly shape how we understand time, growth, and love.
Some books grow with us đŸ€

🌙 Goodnight Moon has always been one of my favorite bedtime books to share with little ones. There’s something so calming about the simple rhythm and the way each “goodnight” helps babies settle their bodies and minds at the end of the day. 💛
I love this book because it creates such a peaceful bedtime routine — even for the tiniest newborns. The gentle repetition, familiar objects, and soft illustrations make it a perfect first story for comforting, bonding, and easing into sleep.
If you’re building your baby’s bedtime library, this is one of those books that truly grows with your child. It’s sweet, soothing, and timeless
a little moment of quiet in the middle of those busy newborn days. đŸ’«
Do you read this one at bedtime? What other favorites should I share next?

Many parents assume crying is always a sign that something is wrong—but in newborns, crying is also a primary form of communication and neurological regulation. In the first months of life, babies don’t cry to manipulate or protest; they cry because their nervous systems are still organizing.

Here’s the part some might not realize:
Responding consistently and promptly to your baby’s cries doesn’t “spoil” them—it actually strengthens their brain.
Every time you pick them up, soothe them, or meet a need, you’re helping build the neural pathways responsible for trust, emotional regulation, and secure attachment. You’re literally shaping the architecture of the developing brain.

A well-supported caregiver and a well-supported baby create a calmer, more connected household—and that begins with understanding what newborn communication truly means.
