Ekam Yoga Studio

Ekam Yoga Studio Welcome to Ekam Yoga Studio! Ekam means unity in Sanskrit. Here, we guide yogis and yoginis on a journey to connect mind, body, and breath—one posture at a time.

All levels welcome | Personalized guidance | Traditional Ashtanga, Flow, Hatha & Yin In Sanskrit Ekam means unity and togetherness. Yogi and Yogini, through their practice, aspire to reach Ekam both individually and as a community. Each yoga practitioner embarks in a journey of self-discovery which will lead to a greater harmony between the body and the mind. This transformative experience will progressively emerge from poses, movement, breathing and meditation. As a group, yogi and yogini, teachers and students develop a positive energy towards shared values and goals.

➰ Day 24 of the Ekam Advent calendar — The Final Gift ➰
Ⰶ Today’s gift from Ekam:

𓂃 ོ𓂃 Continuity.

Not something new to add.
Just something to carry with you.

The breath.
The attention.
The quiet moments you created this month.

There is no finish line.
Only a return — again and again.

Wherever you are,
the practice is already there.

Thank you for walking this path with us.
Merry Christmas 🤍

➰ Day 23 of the Ekam Advent calendar — The Gift of Presence ➰

Ⰶ Today’s gift from Ekam:
Samasthiti. Standing still.

𖠋 In yoga, every standing pose begins and ends here.
Feet together and grounded.
Legs gently engaged.
Shoulders soft.
Body upright.
Breath settled.

Samasthiti is not “doing nothing.”
This simple posture is an invitation to pause,
to feel the ground beneath you,
and to arrive fully in the present moment.

You don’t need to move to practice.
Sometimes, standing and breathing is enough.

Try standing in Samasthiti for a few breaths today —
before practice, or anytime you need to come back to yourself.

➰ Day 20 of the Ekam Advent calendar — Morning Ritual ➰

Ⰶ Today’s gift from Ekam:
I’m sharing my morning ritual, something I do before my yoga practice to start the day clear and centered.

☀︎⋆*:・ When I wake up, I:
– Gently scrape the tongue
– Clean the nose (yogic cleansing practices called kriyas)
– Drink a glass of warm lemon water
– Light incense
– Chant verses from the Yoga Sutras, which I’m currently studying with my dear teacher Tara Mitra

These small actions help prepare the body, calm the mind, and create a quiet inner space before the day begins.

If you’re curious about kriyas or unsure how to practice them, let me know in the comments and I’ll share a dedicated post to explain them gently.

🌞 Try this tomorrow morning when you wake up, or save this post to create your own ritual before starting your day.

– Cat pose with hip circles
– Low lunge and counter pose
– Butterfly
– Seated Thread the Needle (hip opener)
– Windshield wipers
– Pigeon pose
– Malasana

Move gently.
Breathe deeply.
Receive the release.

🌙 Try this soft hips to unwind and reset.
and save this reel to come back to it whenever you need.

Sit comfortably with a straight spine and relaxed shoulders.
• Fold the index and middle fingers of your right hand (Vishnu Mudra).
• Close off your right nostril, inhale through the left.
• Close off the left nostril, exhale through the right.
• Repeat 4 times
✦ Switch the sides

➰ Day 16 of the Ekam Advent calendar — The Pace is Changing ➰

༄.° The first days of this journey were about rhythm, structure and showing up.
Now, as we move closer to the end of the year, we soften.

⋆˚꩜。 For the next days, think of this calendar as a series of small gifts:
a pause,
a breath,
a moment of silence,
a gentle reminder to slow down.

Nothing to achieve.
Nothing to perfect.
Just moments to receive.

Welcome to the quieter days of the Ekam Advent journey. 🤍

➰Day 15 of the Ekam Advent calendar — Let Go of One Unnecessary Thing ➰

Today, let go!
Release what no longer serves you — a thought, an object or a habit.

Take a moment for yourself: sit comfortably, light a candle, breathe deeply, and let calm wash over you… or go for a walk, let your thoughts flow, and notice what you’re ready to release.
Notice how it feels to create space for calm, clarity and new possibilities.

✨ What will you choose to release today?
Share in your story and tag — let’s inspire each other to let go and breathe freely.
