Our Modalities:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
EMDR is an evidence-based, trauma-focused modality with decades of proven efficacy.
During EMDR, you identify a traumatic memory or memory that has a lot of emotion around it. Holding that memory in mind, you begin to follow eye movements or other bilateral stimulation.
This form of processing changes how the memory is stored in your brain, which can reduce the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma/memory.
EMDR is a structured therapy that typically involves many sessions with phases including history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation.
At Twelve:2 Wellness Collective, we offer EMDR with typical ongoing psychotherapy sessions or with psychotherapy intensives.
