For a long time, women were told to ignore symptoms.
“That’s just part of being a woman.”
“It’s normal.”
“Nothing is wrong.”
But the truth is — many women’s health conditions go years without diagnosis because symptoms are dismissed.
This National Women’s Month, we’re changing the conversation.
At Lotus OB-GYN, your symptoms matter.
Your questions matter.
You deserve to be heard.
💬 Tell us in the comments:
What’s something about women’s health you wish people talked about more?

When patients say they’re looking for an OB-GYN that actually listens…
pick us, love us, choose us. 🤍
But truly, being heard in healthcare shouldn’t feel rare.
Too many patients come into our office after feeling dismissed, rushed, or told their concerns were “normal” without anyone actually taking the time to talk through them.
At Lotus, listening is where care starts.
Your symptoms, questions, fears, and experiences matter.
You deserve a provider who takes the time to understand the full picture, not just check a box and move on.
If you’ve been searching for an OB-GYN who will listen, explain, and advocate for you, we’d love to meet you.
✨ New patients welcome.

What school didn’t teach you about women’s bodies: vaginal discharge.
A lot of women grow up thinking discharge means something is wrong… but most of the time, it’s actually your body working exactly the way it should.
Your discharge changes throughout your cycle because your hormones change. That means what’s “normal” can look different week to week.
Here’s a quick breakdown:
• Right after your period: often dry or very minimal
• Mid-cycle / around ovulation: clear, stretchy, egg-white texture (this is your body’s way of helping s***m travel)
• After ovulation: thicker, creamy, or lotion-like
• Before your period: may become slightly sticky or decrease again
These changes are completely normal and are part of a healthy cycle.
What isn’t typical is discharge that comes with:
⚠️ strong odor
⚠️ itching or burning
⚠️ green/gray color
⚠️ pelvic pain
If you ever notice changes like that, it’s worth getting checked.
Your body communicates with you all month long — and discharge is one of the ways it does that.
Saving this post can help you recognize what’s normal for your body.

Consent in healthcare isn’t just a signature on a form — it’s an ongoing conversation between you and your provider.
You deserve to understand what’s happening during your visit, why it’s recommended, and to feel comfortable asking questions along the way.
In women’s healthcare especially, exams and procedures can feel vulnerable. That’s why clear communication, respect, and patient comfort should always come first.
At Lotus OB-GYN, we believe the best care happens when patients feel heard, informed, and supported every step of the way.
Your body. Your health. Your voice matters.

Scared of pain?Anxious about procedures?Avoiding care because you’re nervous?
This is your sign to ask about nitrous oxide.
You hold the mask. You control your breaths. It works in minutes. It wears off fast.
No needles. No IV. No lingering fog.
Just calmer, more comfortable care.

We hear this all the time:
“I thought it was just normal.”
“I didn’t want to be dramatic.”
“I figured I just had to deal with it.”
Here’s the truth: just because something is common doesn’t mean it’s normal.
Severe cramps.
Bleeding through protection every hour.
Pain with sex.
Mood changes that feel overwhelming.
Recurring infections.
Your body is not an inconvenience. And your symptoms are not an exaggeration.
At Lotus, we believe you. We listen. And we investigate when something doesn’t feel right.
If you’ve been brushing something off for months (or years), this is your sign to bring it up at your next visit — or book one.
You deserve answers. 🩺✨

Be honest, for a lot of women, it’s not the IUD itself… it’s the fear of pain.
And that fear is valid.
For years, women were told to just “take some ibuprofen” and push through it. But your comfort matters. Your anxiety matters. Your experience matters.
At Lotus, we offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for procedures like IUD insertions to help with both pain and anxiety.
It:• Works quickly• Helps you feel more relaxed• Wears off fast• Allows most patients to drive themselves home
If discomfort has been the reason you’ve been putting off long-term birth control, this could completely change your experience.
You can request nitrous oxide when booking your appointment — just let us know ahead of time.
Have questions? We’re always happy to talk through your options. 🤍

Yes, nitrous oxide (Pronox) isn’t just for the dentist.
At Lotus, it can be used during select in-office procedures including Pap smears, IUD insertions, colposcopy, and cervical biopsies.
Pronox is a patient-controlled nitrous oxide system that works as both:• A mild pain reliever• An anxiolytic (reduces anxiety)
It works quickly and clears your system within minutes, which means most patients are able to safely drive themselves home afterward.
If fear, discomfort, or anxiety has ever kept you from scheduling care, we want you to know you have options.
You can ask about reserving nitrous oxide when booking your appointment 🤍

Teen dating violence doesn’t always look obvious — but it’s more common than many people realize.
If you’re a teen (or supporting one) and something in a relationship doesn’t feel right, that feeling matters. You can always talk to a provider at Lotus OBGYN — privately, safely, and at your own pace. We’re here to listen and help connect you with support when you’re ready.
You are never alone. 💗

It’s Valentine’s Week 💘
Which also means… National Condom Week 🎈
Using protection isn’t awkward — it’s responsible, respectful, and honestly? Kind of attractive.
If someone pressures you not to use a condom, that’s your sign to pause.
Have questions? Our providers at Lotus OBGYN are always a safe, judgment-free place to talk.
