During lunch in our Arrowhead cafeteria, Child Life specialist Suzanne noticed a fellow team member in distress. Without hesitation, she stepped in, performed the Heimlich maneuver & saved a life.

This moment reminds us that creating a culture of care goes far beyond any one role or discipline.

Thank you, Suzanne, for your quick thinking and courage! 👏

Our Story

Phoenix Children’s is the only children's hospital in Arizona recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals. This year, we ranked in all 10 categories, including Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology and Urology. We’re one of only 24 children’s hospitals in the United States to make the list in all 10 specialties for 2019-20.

Phoenix Children's provides world-class inpatient, outpatient, trauma, emergency and urgent care to children and families in Arizona and throughout the Southwest. As one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, we provide care across more than 75 pediatric specialties. Every day our clinical, professional and support staff work collaboratively to deliver on our mission to provide hope, healing and the best health care for children and their families. They embrace the challenges of providing compassionate, high-quality, family-centered care to the most complex patients in the region.
