Alejandro couldn't walk without pain. It was only a matter of time before he wouldn't be able to walk at all - or so doctors said.

But the Lord had other plans for Alejandro.

Living in California at the time with no insurance, he had no hope for the surgery he desperately needed. Until his aunt told him about Neighborhood Christian Clinic.

He made the trek across the desert to Phoenix and within a month of his first visit - a donor stepped up and paid for Alejandro's surgery. The doctors at the NCC were able to realign Alejandro's foot with surgery and after three months of intense therapy, Alejandro was able to walk with confidence.

Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned.

A job is lost. A procedure becomes necessary. Test results come back with news we didn’t expect. It can feel like there is nothing you can do.

But there is - prayer.

Our staff at Neighborhood Christian Clinic believe in the power of prayer. We’ve seen how it brings peace in uncertainty, strength in weakness, and comfort in the waiting. God’s answers may not always come in the timing or the way we imagine, but we trust that He is faithful.

As a fourth-year medical student, Sarah Brady chose an elective that brought her face-to-face with underserved patients and with a vision of healthcare rooted in dignity, prayer, and compassion.

As a fourth-year medical student, Sarah Brady wanted to learn more than clinical skills. She came to the Clinic to experience healthcare where patients are seen as people, not just diagnoses and where dignity, prayer, and compassion are part of best practice.
