Ahwatukee Toastmasters is holding an Open House on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, @ 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. at Esperanza Lutheran Church, 2601 E. Thunderhill Pl, Phoenix, 85044. We meet every Tuesday morning from 7:00 to 8:00 a.m.

We are celebrating thirty-five years as an active and strong organization in the Ahwatukee-Foothills area. The club’s mission is to provide a supportive and positive learning experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth.

We are an open club - all are welcome. Please join us!

We had a fun meeting on May 24 with two great speeches by Jim Chaston and Rick Phillips.

The word of the day was “flummoxed” which means to be completely unable to understand : utterly confused or perplexed.

We had a fun meeting today, May 17. Glenn Steinman came up with some fun table topics. Paul Brunoforte gave an inspirational speech he will give at the Toastmasters Virtual Career and Personal Development Event on Saturday June 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

We had another high-energy meeting this past week. Gary Walker came up with some great Table Topics questions. Jianhong Zhou’s speech focused on why he stays in Toastmasters, and Paul Brunoforte’s speech focused on living with no regrets. All three sessions made for a powerful and energetic way to start your Tuesday morning.

This past week we had another amazing meeting.
Jim Chaston gave a great humorous speech entitled “The Standup Account.” Brenda Smull gave a fabulous speech in preparation for a keynote speech entitled “The Courage to Communicate Outside the Box.”

Congratulations to Rick Phillips, winner of the Saguaro 5 Area Contest. Our area director Harsha Bipin attended the meeting and presented the contest trophy to Rick. He goes on to compete in the Division Contest on April 23.

We had another great meeting yesterday. The energy level grows every week. Glenn Steinman did a great job as a first-time Toastmaster, and Jianhong Zhou offered some great table topics on the theme of St. Patrick’s Day. Both Andrew and Katrina gave speeches.

Congratulations to Rick Phillips who won the International Speech contest at the Area level.

He will now advance to the Ocotillo Division level. That contest is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, @ 12:00 noon. The contest will be held on Zoom. Thanks for representing Ahwatukee Toastmasters
