Be intentional with your plans this holiday season. 🌿
If you go in unprepared, you might find yourself repeating the same patterns and emotions from years past.

Change starts with awareness — and you have the power to create a more peaceful, meaningful holiday experience. 💙

If you’re spending time with family this year, remember:
✨ It’s your holiday too, and your needs matter.
✨ Setting boundaries ahead of time can help prevent last-minute tension.
✨ You don’t have to do everything alone — it’s okay to ask for help.
✨ People will show up as themselves. Consider that before accepting or extending invites.
✨ If a conversation starts heading off course, choose calm over reaction.
✨ Know your limits and have an exit plan ready.

Protecting your peace doesn’t make you distant — it makes you intentional.
How do you stay grounded during the holidays? ✨👇

From Claudette 💚💛🖤
As many of you have seen, Hurricane Melissa (a Category 5 storm) has devastated my beloved Jamaica. Generations of families have lost everything overnight. Homes, crops, and livelihoods are gone.

This includes my own childhood home, now completely destroyed. It’s been heartbreaking waiting to hear from loved ones, and while I am grateful everyone is safe, the stories coming out of Jamaica are devastating.

People are homeless, hungry, and struggling to survive, and the world’s attention has already moved on. But the need is still so great.

I’m asking from the bottom of my heart: please help in any way you can. Every single dollar counts and will go directly toward rebuilding lives and restoring hope.

From my heart to yours, thank you for your compassion, prayers, and generosity.

Letting go of toxic family members can feel overwhelming, but prioritizing your mental health is essential for a balanced, fulfilling life. 🌿

Toxic relationships drain your energy, disrupt your peace, and create emotional and even physical stress. It’s okay to protect your peace and set boundaries. 💙

Here’s how to start:
✨ Acknowledge the Pain: Allow yourself to feel hurt and recognize that this relationship isn’t healthy for you.
✨ Set Clear Boundaries: Decide what behaviors you will and will not accept, and stay consistent with those boundaries.
✨ Seek Support: Reach out to a therapist or a support group for guidance and encouragement.
✨ Focus on Healing: Give yourself time to process your emotions and reconnect with your sense of self.

Remember, you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. Our compassionate therapists at New Point of View Counseling are here to support you every step of the way. 👉 https://newpointofviewcounseling.com/

💡 Relationship Tip: The Power of a Redo 💡

Ever had a conversation that didn’t come out quite right? Try asking for a redo!
Simply say, “I don’t like how that came out. Can we try that again?” and give yourselves a chance to reset.

Catching a miscommunication early can prevent it from turning into a bigger conflict. This simple tool helps keep conversations on track and relationships grounded in understanding.

If something doesn’t feel right or you hear something that lands wrong, it’s always okay to ask for a redo. 💙

Find your light again ✨ Trauma affects you at a cellular level, leaving your nervous system stuck in a state of stress. This can lead to persistent physical and emotional symptoms. However, with EMDR therapy, you can retrain your nervous system, process unresolved trauma, and release chronic emotional and physical symptoms.

Instead of steering the conversation or jumping in with advice, focus on simply being present. Avoid trying to solve problems or downplaying emotions; just listen and offer your support.

Remember, people need the space to express their feelings and find their own answers.

When was the last time you slowed down to appreciate the little things? Sometimes we just need a moment to breathe after a long day of work or ordinary life. Take a moment to appreciate the completion of yet another day by watching the sunset or sitting in nature. Use this opportunity to practice some more mindfulness. Let yourself be present and enjoy the moment. ✨

Therapy isn’t just for moments of crisis: it’s for growth, healing, and self-discovery. 🌿

Contrary to popular belief, therapy isn’t only for those with a diagnosed mental disorder or what society labels as “serious problems.” Because of lingering stigma around mental health, we often forget that therapy is also about:

◽️ Strengthening coping skills
◽️ Improving relationships and communication
◽️ Building self-esteem
◽️ Enhancing overall quality of life

Therapy can benefit anyone seeking self-improvement, healthier habits, or greater self-awareness. Whether you’re navigating challenges or simply wanting to understand yourself better, therapy has something to offer everyone. 💙

Let’s work together to de-stigmatize mental health and make growth the norm.

Sometimes we judge other people for honoring their needs simply because we wouldn’t do the same for ourselves. Without realizing it, we see their self-care through the distorted lens of our own self-neglect.
