Today, we're showing appreciation for our Critical Care Transport Nurses! 🚁🚑🛩️❤️ Critical Care Transport Nurses Day is celebrated annually on February 18 and recognizes the uniqueness of what transport nurses do and the difference they make in the lives of their patients. These nurses provide specialized medical care, patient advocacy, and so much more during the transport of the critically ill or injured. Dr. Peace Madueme spent time at Evans High School in Central Florida to train students on Hands-Only CPR. Over 30,000 Orange County Public School students learned this lifesaving skill, which includes checking for vitals, assessing ABC’s (airway, breathing and circulation) and how to successfully perform chest compressions until medical professionals arrive to the scene. Applying CPR reduces the risk of a person suffering damage to their heart, brain, and other vital organs.

Special thanks to local first responders, American Heart Association - Florida and Orange County Public Schools to joining us to go Well Beyond Medicine to help our community be the healthiest it can be!

We had an amazing time last Saturday celebrating the partnership between the Lake Nona Performance Club and Nemours Children’s! 🎉 The Network, a Nashville-based soul/funk party band made the night unforgettable with their incredible performance. It was amazing to see the Lake Nona community, including many of our patients and their families, come together to support this important collaboration. A big shoutout to our partner, Lake Nona Performance Club, for their ongoing support of the Nemours Children’s Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Orlando. 🙌
