Have you ever had that feeling where you’re really excited about something, but also terribly embarrassed by it?

Kinda like when you’re in a dance circle and someone asks you to go into the middle and bust a move … it’s both exciting and mortifying.

A part of us wants to be seen and expressed and loved in all of our goofy weirdness.
And a part of us is like – please nooooo …

Taylor showed me the final cut for our first episode of FLOWER HUNTERS on Monday, and there are so many parts where I just cringe or shout loudly when I see it, because it’s so ridiculous!

You’d think I was watching a football game, lol.

We look like such goofballs. The way we talk and express ourselves. We’re so dorky. Forehead slap.

But ... no going back now!

Here's how this all started: ⁠

We traveled to Wyoming to shoot some footage for a multi-year documentary film project. We planned to stay a few extra days to support our friend Kayla giving birth to her fourth baby. Annnnd, the baby came waaaay late. We extended our trip 5 times! ⁠
⁠
With all our extra time waiting for that precious baby, we decided to bring a camera with us while hunting for a rare, elusive orchid. We were not prepared. We did not have the right clothes or gear. And we underestimated the quantity of bears in Wyoming. ⁠
⁠
Nevertheless, we shot two weeks of footage of hunting that orchid all over every mountainside in the Grand Tetons and into Yellowstone. We created a 3-part series, coming out next Thursday, Feb 5th, and it's only the beginning. After that we'll share our jungle hunting in Nepal. ⁠

But I'm getting ahead of myself. This is the most vulnerable (and silly) project we've done thus far. Being our true real, goofy selves, vlog style, roaming the Wyoming wilderness. ⁠

Your awareness when you're not taking flower essences. 😂

In all seriousness, here's one Fire Horse year tip you won't see anywhere online:

From NOW through the next 12 months, one thing you MUST know is this:

We will be more prone to falls & accidents this year.

This means that we need to remind ourselves to be mindful & aware of our movements and our actions. 

What could this look like? 

Sprained ankles, falls, hip fractures, broken wrists, hospital stays, car accidents, slips on the ice/snow or accidents of any kind!

It can even look like: You forget to turn off the iron. It falls on something, it catches fire and the whole house goes up in flames.

This year we need to be ultra-aware. Double check everything and pay attention. Do NOT text & drive!

As we enter the tippy tail end of the Snake year, we are exiting a year of deep transformation and internal change.

Now through the start of the Fire Horse year ~ it’s a time where we shed old patterns.

We dissolve energetic residue, emotional imprints and identities that we’ve outgrown.

There are certain ways of being that we’re closing the door on– and we’re not looking back.

Though we may be content in moving forward, sometimes as certain doors close, there is grief & attachment that arises.

We’re filtering through these attachments, through relationships, places, ways of being.

We are shedding skin, and we may not know yet what exciting new opportunities, identities and lifestyles will emerge…

This can be unnerving, and destabilizing.

Personally – I am feeling this right now.

And I’m leaning on Snail Vine for support.

A lot of people ask me:

How do you know what a particular flower is for?

The best way I know is to ask the Earth & the plant directly ~ with a clear, settled mind & open observation.

After asking permission & making offerings to the land & the plant, I make a pure request:

"Please tell me what this plant is for & how it can benefit the people that I will reach in this lifetime.

What words/language do I use to share with the people I reach?

What does it magnify?

What does it dissolve?

How will it impact lives?"

For me, this is the most direct method for making plant remedies, and has been used by herbalists & medicine makers for thousands of years.

In the beginning, I had a lot of doubt .. Am I making this up? Am I crazy? Am I projecting?

For a long time, I would share each flower elixir with a small group of people before ever releasing it to the public, to study the effects & make sure that the information I was receiving was what the elixir was actually catalyzing in the lives of those who took it.

After decades of making 300+ flower essences, I have learned to trust this process.
