Every placenta I lay eyes on leaves me in awe. Such a magnificent work of art, mystery, and life. The day I worked on this placenta was also the same day I supported a friend as she laid her father to rest. Such a full circle day.

For this Momma, her state of mind and the words she spoke are what carried her through. Down to the last minute. She prioritized her mental peace, affirmed herself every step of the way, and manifested her birth in its entirety. And it was beautiful.

As for me, witnessing her be so spiritually sound and present was an honor.

Can we also have a moment for this placenta? It is so beautiful. I’ve been obsessed with all things placenta lately.

We’ve had our hands full over here with our eggs in many baskets. But I decided I wanted to start sharing more about the births I attend. Birth is sacred and Spiritual, as is my presence at them with my families. But why keep the joy to myself?

7 days prodromal labor. 5.5 hrs laboring at home. 2 hrs laboring in hospital. 1 hour pushing. Mom was a complete warrior. But my favorite moment of it all was having Big Sister, aged 2, assist with comfort measures and hip squeezes while laboring at home.

New babies, labor and birth can be very exciting and confusing for a little one. Making them a part of it in all the little ways possible can make a huge difference in how they process this experience
