The concept of Lathi Tha’ was developed by a group of visionary black optometrists who felt passionately that the historical imbalances within the industry needed to be redressed. Lathi Tha’ was established in February 2004 with the goal of uniting previously disadvantaged optometrists in order to achieve transformation within the industry hitherto dominated by non-black practitioners.
