Robert Lopatkin DDS

With more than 25 years of experience at our side, Astoria Family Orthodontics has been providing quality treatment to patients of all ages. Lopatkin holds a B.A. in mathematics from Queens College and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. After completing a fellowship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, he went on to specialize in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at New York University. Dr. Lopatkin is a member of the American Dental Association, Queens Dental Society, American College Of Diplomates, the Long Island Academy of odontology and since 1988 has served as a Diplomate on the American Board Of Orthodontics. Dr. Lopatkin teaches at N.Y.U. School of Dentistry as a Clinical Associate Professor Orthodontics. A native New Yorker, Dr. Lopatkin lives on Long Island with his wife and two daughters. Dr. Jill Varriale is a board certified orthodontist and a New York native. She graduated with honors from Binghamton University and received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving her D.M.D., Dr. Varriale got accepted into New York University’s orthodontic residency program in which she received her certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Throughout her orthodontic residency, Dr. Varriale received training in multiple fields including invisalign, lingual braces, orthognathic surgery cases, and more. She studied the biology underlying tooth movement and published her award winning research in the Journal of Dental Research, one of the field’s top journals. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Varriale voluntarily decided to attain the highest plateau in orthodontic excellence by passing the written, oral and clinical board of orthodontics and we are proud to say she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Varriale lives in Manhattan with her husband. In her spare time, she loves to play violin, piano, tennis and stay active. She continues to attend regional and national conferences to make sure she is always up to date with the latest research and technology.

🚨 TRANSFORMATION THURSDAY 🚨

Sometimes we need early intervention in order to avoid problems while the jaws are still growing. With expansion and braces in phase I we were able to correct the anterior and posterior crossbites which would have possibly needed a surgical correction if left untreated until older. Then wrapped it up in a pretty little 🎀 with braces in phase II ! 😁😁
