This young patient of mine was bothered by her large breasts and , which also made it difficult for her to find bras that fit properly. While a traditional would have also been an option for her, she wanted to avoid the associated scarring and downtime and so elected to undergo . I performed this procedure through a small incision strategically placed in the fold of the breast under twilight anesthesia, resulting in a virtually scarless result. Breast liposuction is a great technique for patients who desire a more modest reduction in breast volume or to improve symmetry, as in this case, and requires limited downtime. By using a combination of liposuction techniques, a pleasing result can be achieved even in patients with denser breasts. This patient is loving her results and so are we!

I recently attended the Global Health Congress in New York City where I had the opportunity to listen to thought-provoking panels and speak with colleagues in healthcare, technology and finance about the future of healthcare and, especially, of artificial intelligence in healthcare. Artificial intelligence is developing with increasing speed and it is crucial that physicians understand where this technology is today, where it is going, current limitations, and ethics of responsible use.
