🧑 August is SMA Awareness Month 🧑
Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) is a rare neuromuscular disease that weakens the body – but never the mind, the dreams, or the spirit.

Even though SMA comes with many physical challenges, people living with SMA are just as diverse, talented, and full of life as anyone else.

Did you know that around 1 in 50 people in the U.S. is a genetic carrier of SMA? Or that early diagnosis and modern therapies are now making things possible that were unthinkable just a few years ago?

At munevo, we want to use this month to shine a light on people with SMA – and show our support and appreciation. 🀝

What a weekend, Houston – thank you! πŸ™Œ

We had a great time at the Houston Abilities Expo, introducing many attendees to our munevo DRIVE smart glasses – a hands-free drive control system that allows users to operate their powered wheelchairs with simple head movements.

Over the three days, many people tested the system for themselves – including end-users, therapists, and assistive technology professionals. The feedback was valuable and encouraging, and the interest in alternative drive controls continues to grow.

We’re especially grateful to our partners Manny Aranda, Jay Everett, the Southwestern Medical Reps team, Amylior, Permobil, and Quantum Rehab for providing the powered wheelchair bases and supporting us throughout the event.

We’re leaving Houston with a full heart, new connections – and even more energy to keep moving forward. πŸš€

Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

July is Disability Pride Month! πŸŽ‰β™ΏοΈ

At munevo, we celebrate the diversity, strength, and pride of the global disability community this month.

Disability Pride Month reminds us: Disability is part of our diverse society – and nothing to hide or be ashamed of.

The 2025 theme, β€œWe Belong Here, and We’re Here to Stay,” is a powerful message that people with disabilities don’t just belong – they actively shape and enrich our society.

Let’s work together to break down barriers, amplify voices, and advocate for true inclusion and accessibility. πŸ’ͺ

🌍 Today is World MS Day 2025 – "My MS Diagnosis."

Every 5 minutes, someone, somewhere in the world is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Globally, an estimated 2.9 million people are living with MS – including at least 30,000 children under the age of 18.

MS is one of the most common neurological conditions in young adults, typically diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 40. Women are affected two to three times more often than men. Symptoms range from fatigue and numbness to balance issues, memory problems, and vision disturbances.

➑️ Early diagnosis matters.
The sooner MS is diagnosed, the sooner treatment and lifestyle changes can begin – helping reduce relapses and slow the progression of disability.
Yet 83% of countries face challenges that delay diagnosis: lack of awareness, limited access to specialists, and unclear testing protocols.

πŸ“£ That’s why we speak up.
The My MS Diagnosis campaign raises awareness about these barriers and calls for earlier detection, better training for healthcare providers, and stronger support systems for those affected.

At munevo, we empower people with MS to live with greater freedom and independence – using innovative smart technology designed to improve everyday mobility and control.

🧑 To everyone living with MS: You are not alone.
To those who care: Talk about MS. Share this post. Raise your voice.

πŸ’‘ When the body no longer obeys, every moment of self-determination becomes priceless.
May is recognized worldwide as ALS Awareness Month – a time to shine a light on a disease that fundamentally changes lives: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

ALS is a progressive neurological disease. Muscles gradually lose their strength – affecting arms, legs, speech, and breathing. But thinking, feeling, and perception remain completely intact.
And that’s exactly what makes ALS so emotionally challenging: those affected stay mentally sharp – fully aware of how their body is slowly failing them.

Everyday life becomes a challenge. Simple things like having a conversation, typing a message, or steering a wheelchair become impossible.

🎯 This is where assistive technologies like our head control come in:
By using targeted head movements, an electric wheelchair can be steered – without hands or physical strength.

ALS Awareness Month gives visibility to people whose voices are too often unheard – and calls on all of us to look closer, listen more, and support real solutions.

🌍 Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD)!

A worldwide awareness day dedicated to highlighting the importance of digital accessibility and inclusion. Since 2012, GAAD has been observed every year on the third Thursday of May to raise awareness for the 1+ billion people around the world living with disabilities.

But accessibility is more than just a technical issue. It’s about participation, self-determination, and equal opportunities.

πŸ‘‰ That’s exactly what we work on at munevo: Our smart head control solution empowers people with physical disabilities to gain more mobility and independence – using technology that breaks down barriers.

Let’s use GAAD as a moment to talk about inclusion, to recognize where barriers still exist – and to find solutions that truly make a difference.
Because real accessibility benefits all of us.

πŸŽ‰ Welcome to the munevo family, Robbie! πŸŽ‰

This week was a special one – we had the honor of setting up our very first munevo DRIVE system in Tennessee! ✨

Robbie is now equipped with his own smartglass-controlled system on his Invacare U.S. wheelchair. After calibrating it himself, he was able to access all wheelchair functions and even connect to his mobile devices.

Together with Andy Foster and Doug Burton from Numotion, and his amazing therapist Lorri Bernhardt from Vanderbilt Medical Center, we made sure everything was ready for this new chapter of independence. πŸ™Œ

Robbie, we’re so excited to support you on your journey – and we can’t wait to hear more about the moments of freedom you’ll experience!
