In September 2024, Brianna was in active labor when the state of Florida held a three-hour court hearing in her delivery room to determine whether she should have a C-section against her will. She had no lawyer and no warning. Over a dozen people crowded into her delivery room to watch a judge decide what would happen to her body while she was having contractions. Every pregnant person has the right to decide what happens to their own body. Brianna was not given that right.
