In a recent article published by the NYT, award-winning pianist, Nicolas Namoradze collaborated with scientists to visualize how music activates in musicians’ brains as they perform.
Using technology called the “Glass Brain”, they were able to map the electrical activity of Namoradze’s brain in real time. The Glass Brain technology renders the real time data into a captivating display of color, light, and motion on a translucent 3D model of a brain.
The project resulted in a stunning glimpse into the inner workings of perfomers’ minds, opening new possibilities into the study of how music activates the brain.�
