NYC is going from record snowfall to 60°F in just a few weeks. Seasonal transitions can be a lot, even when they're welcome. After months of grey skies and hunkering down, a sudden shift in weather can leave you feeling "behind" in life.

Here are 3 things to try to help support you body and mind this week:

☀️ Get sunlight before noon. Morning light helps reset your internal clock after a long winter. Even 10–15 minutes by an open window on an overcast day can make a difference. No agenda, just you and the sun.

🎨 Let your creative practice shift with the season. If winter had you in a slow, inward mode, that's okay. You don't have to snap back to full productivity overnight. Follow your energy rather than pushing it.

🤝 Reconnect gently. After weeks of snow-ins and freezing temperatures, the urge to do everything at once can be overwhelming. Be selective about what you give your energy to this week. Small steps.

The thaw is a process, not a switch. Be patient with yourself. 💙

In a recent article published by the NYT, award-winning pianist, Nicolas Namoradze collaborated with scientists to visualize how music activates in musicians’ brains as they perform.

Using technology called the “Glass Brain”, they were able to map the electrical activity of Namoradze’s brain in real time. The Glass Brain technology renders the real time data into a captivating display of color, light, and motion on a translucent 3D model of a brain.

The project resulted in a stunning glimpse into the inner workings of perfomers’ minds, opening new possibilities into the study of how music activates the brain.

The connection between music, mind, and body has been recognized since Ancient Greece. 🎵

Research shows music therapy significantly reduces PTSD, anxiety, and stress while improving motor function and cognitive health. But you don't need a clinical setting to experience its benefits.

Try mindful listening, rewrite lyrics to reflect your feelings, or simply notice how music moves you.
