Disempowering Money Advice I Have to De-Hypnotize My Clients From
Even though my clients are now making multiple six-figures a year they often come from low-income backgrounds so I spend a great deal of time dehypnotizing them.
1.) “Just budget harder.”
If budgeting is built on shame, you will avoid it. We build a system you can actually maintain.
2.) “Cut out all fun spending.”
Deprivation creates rebounds. Especially with ADHD. You need a planned dopamine category, not punishment.
3.) “If you really wanted it, you’d be disciplined.”
Discipline isn’t the issue. Nervous system safety and cue-based habits are.
4.) “Work harder and it’ll all work out.”
Hustle without capacity creates burnout and feast-to-famine cycles.
5.) “Don’t think about money, just manifest it.”
Avoidance is not spirituality. It’s a coping strategy.
6.) “Charging more is greedy.”
Pricing is not morality. It’s sustainability, boundaries, and value.
7.) “Money is the root of all evil.”
Money is neutral. Your story about it isn’t.
8.) “Keep your goals private so nobody envies you.”
Privacy can be wise. But fear-based hiding can also block visibility and growth. We teach discernment, not hiding.
9.) “You have to choose between wealth and peace.”
Real wealth includes peace. If it costs your nervous system, it’s not wealth.
10.) “If you grew up poor, you’ll always struggle.”
That’s a trance. The past can explain you, but it doesn’t get to define you.
Ready to start dehypnotizing yourself? You need to identify which money beliefs that have been holding you back. Comment “ASSESSMENT” to get started.
