What a Quad Set Helps With

1️⃣ Knee Pain Reduction
Quad sets help stabilize the knee joint by strengthening the quadriceps, which reduces stress on structures like the kneecap and ligaments.
• Helpful for patellofemoral pain (kneecap pain)
• Useful for general knee soreness or instability

2️⃣ Improving Knee Stability
Strong quads keep the knee aligned and supported, especially during walking, stairs, and standing.

3️⃣ Post-Surgery Recovery
Quad sets are one of the first exercises prescribed after knee surgery, such as:
• ACL reconstruction
• Meniscus surgery
• Total knee replacement

They help restore muscle activation when the quad “shuts down” after surgery.

How to do it:
1️⃣ Sit tall in a chair with both feet flat on the floor.
2️⃣ Cross one ankle over the opposite knee.
3️⃣ Keep your back straight and gently lean forward.
4️⃣ Stop when you feel a stretch in the hip (not pain).
5️⃣ Hold for 15–30 seconds, then switch sides.
