A Thanksgiving Reflection: On Listening, Connection, and Seeing the Unseen
Thanksgiving is fast approaching. Today I find myself reflecting not only on being grateful but on the profound power of being present; of being here, now, with whatever this time and moment brings.
2025 has been… a lot. For many of us, it’s been a year of deep division - families split over politics, friendships strained by different beliefs, painful distance where there used to be closeness. If you’re facing a Thanksgiving table with people whose views oppose yours, I want to remind you: you can hold your truth AND create space to truly listen.
Listening doesn’t mean agreeing… or surrendering. It can mean recognizing the divine spark in every person, even when their perspective feels foreign. When you speak from your true heart (not your triggered heart), something shifts. You might not change minds, but you’ll change the energy in the environment.
And if family gatherings feel impossible this year - if distance, estrangement, or grief keeps you from the table - please know you are not alone. Reach out to someone today who might be feeling invisible. A text, a call, even just acknowledging someone’s presence - it matters more than you know.
What Does “Whispering Greatness” Mean?
I use this phrase a lot, so let me clarify: Whispering greatness means speaking to the highest truth in someone - seeing past their defenses, struggles, and masks to the divine spark within. It’s not about compliments or flattery. It’s about reminding someone (and yourself) of their inherent worth, their true capacity for LOVE, their light.
Try this: Look in the mirror today and whisper to yourself, “I see you. You are worthy of LOVE. You are enough. You have everything you need within you.” Then radiate that feeling to others - especially those who feel forgotten or alone.
Before Your Gatherings, Ground Yourself:
- Take a breath
- Get grounded from the base of the spine down deep into the Earth
- Ask your true heart: “What am I actually experiencing and feeling right now?”
- Notice without fixing, allow without judging
- Whisper: “I AM here. The universe has my back”
This holiday season, let’s commit to:
- Practicing kindness (especially toward ourselves)
- Listening, even to someone whose views challenge us - not to change them, but to understand
- Reaching out and connecting
- Acknowledging those who feel invisible
- Sharing LOVE without expecting anything in return
- Whispering greatness to ourselves first, then to others
I am profoundly grateful for each of you. Your trust, your questions, your willingness to grow, your courage to keep showing up - you have taught me more than I could ever teach you. Through your reflection, I remember my own indwelling greatness.
Thank you for being exactly who you are, right where you are, right now.
May your Thanksgiving be filled with presence, connection, and the deep knowing that you are LOVED - even in disagreement, even in solitude, even in difficulty.
When in doubt, remember: You’ve got this. You are the spark of the universe experiencing itself.
Act accordingly.
LOVE your way,
Create a beautiful day!
