Got to work with one of my best friends today! ❤️❤️❤️ 10 years of friendship, new jobs, different boyfriends, endless apartments, a million cocktails, a move to the west coast and here we are, working for ourselves, shooting a fashion project together like it’s NBD… pretty proud of us. Pretty sure our 20-something selves would be really psyched too. ❤️

Happy 4th of July Weekend! I’m not so proud of our country’s political and judicial path at the moment but I still love her and think she’s pretty amazing. Let’s hope for some healing.

Day 12 🤰🏼look: hi, I live here now. Especially thankful today for my .wing home where I can come and do my work and eat cookies and see friends and try to avoid getting sick (and use their great selfie mirror!). Today’s look credits sweater (old) maternity trousers (navy pinstripe, but too backlit to tell), and boots

Day 11 🤰🏼look: fleeing from quarantine. Ran in, held my breath, took photo, exited. Sick husband has turned our bedroom into a germ palace. Made him a big pot of chicken soup and left for the day. Outfit brought to you by blazer and scarf, tunic, maternity jeans, and boots

Day 9 🤰🏼look: it’s a cantaloupe!!! Officially today and growing a cantaloupe, apparently. Pretty happy about stretchy dresses lately. This one is and the vest (which, I’ve been leaning on hard during the pregnancy to minimize the bump) is . Happy Friday, everyone!!

Day 8 🤰🏼look: wardrobe wins! This outfit may not look like much but it represents two wardrobe wins brought back from certain disaster. Win #1: I spent last weekend making this cape from a so-called “easy” pattern I got for Christmas only to discover that making the size S version means you have to have the head circumference of a child. I spent as much time ripping out the collar and reopening it to it’s maximum width as I did making the whole freaking thing. Oh well, at least it’s finally warm enough to wear it to dinner tonight!!!! Win #2: although they look like black jeans in this photo, the pants I’m wearing are actually my favorite (and likely most expensive) pants in my wardrobe - black leather leggings that I’ve had for years. The nice thing about leggings of any kind is that they manage to stay in your pregnancy wardrobe long after most pants have surrendered. So, at 16 weeks I decided to wear these bad boys to a party and prove to all the skinny fashion girls with flat stomachs that I could be chic AND pregnant. Although you CAN wear leggings way into your pregnancy, you probably SHOULDN’T do your deepest plié in order to kiss a puppy immediately upon walking into said party. When I say these bad boys ripped, I mean they shredded - in two spots running horizontally from crotch to hip right along my rear end. So I spent the remainder of the party backed up to walls and awkwardly remaining seated while attempting to meet new people. Le sighhhhh. Anyway, consider this photo a love letter to who fixed them so well you could never tell they were ever damaged 🤦🏼‍♀️

Day 7 🤰🏼look: a cozy gem. This dress is one of my few “maternity” purchases so far (even though it’s not technically a maternity dress). I’ve been trying to be strategic about where I spend $ on clothing - hoping that I can use as many of my pregnancy clothes as possible post-pregnancy. This dress is perfect for the bump but also just warm and snuggly for regular wear. In an effort to offset the Snuggy-like tone of the dress, I paired it with my knee-high boots, oversized earring, and silk scarf

Day 6 🤰🏼look: footwear challenges. Even though I am thanking the heavens for these 40 degree temperatures in NY, with a post-blizzard warmup comes messy, dirty, salty slush. So, for now, these boots are still my only footwear option. On the top half, another find - this piece is a bit of a mystery, even to me... is it a long sweater? A dress? A tunic? What do I do with these hip-high slits?? Although I often pass over this piece because of the styling challenges it presents, it is a look in my ever-dwindling pre-pregnancy wardrobe that can accommodate the bump... so, congratulations sweater-tunic-dress! You’ve climbed the ladder of favorability to see yourself at the top of the heap🏆

Day 5 🤰🏼look:You know it’s been bad when 23 degrees feels warm. Taking the “warm up” as an opportunity to wear my new (to me) sweater from . If you don’t know about it ThredUP is a great company that sends you a free bag and shipping label to send in your gently worn clothes. If they can sell them, they will post items and cut you $. If not, they will responsibly recycle them. Not great for high-end items but perfect for mid pricepoint (similar to Buffalo Exchange or Crossroads without the hassle of having to wait for your items to be sorted). Right before Christmas I realized that I have about $40 in credit and used it to buy this sweater. Go to thredUP.com to request a bag for your New Years closet clean out!
