Bookkeeping and taxes aren’t separate tasks — they’re connected!

Up-to-date bookkeeping gives you real-time clarity around your income, expenses, and cash flow. That clarity allows tax preparation to be proactive rather than reactive, helping you plan for payments, avoid surprises, and help you make well-informed decisions throughout the year – like if you need to file an extension or not.

Knowing your critical deadlines and numbers before you file your tax returns takes the guesswork out of tax planning. When your bookkeeping and tax planning is aligned, tax season becomes predictable instead of overwhelming, giving your business the structure to grow.

If you’re planning to “deal with taxes in March”… you’re already behind.

Not because you’re failing. But because March is when everything hits at once:
• Missing documents you swear you had
• Rushed bookkeeping
• Avoidable penalties
• Filing anxiety
• Zero buffer time when something goes wrong

Starting now gives you space to clean things up calmly, catch issues early, and file without the chaos.
Want help getting ahead this year? I am here to support you with proactive tax prep and bookkeeping so March doesn’t turn into panic mode.

📌 1099s are due January 31, 2026

If you paid contractors in 2025, this deadline applies to you.

Before you file, confirm:
🧾 Totals are accurate
📄 W-9s are on file
🏷️ Names, addresses, and EIN/SSN are correct

Mistakes here can mean penalties later 😬

DM me if you want help reviewing or filing.

Make tax season a little bit easier by avoiding these three common mistakes:
1️⃣ Catching up on months of bookkeeping at the last minute.
2️⃣ Not keeping business and personal spending separate.
3️⃣ Ignoring estimated taxes until it’s too late.

This December, set yourself up for a calm tax season and send us a DM if you need help!

Important 1099-NEC Update for Wellness Professionals!

Heads up! The IRS has raised the 1099-NEC and 1099-Misc reporting threshold.
Here’s what you need to know:

➡️ For 2025:
You still need to file a 1099-NEC for any contractor you’ve paid $600 or more or 1099-Misc for office rent.

➡️ Starting in 2026:
The threshold increases to $2,000, meaning you won’t need to file a 1099 unless the total payments hit that new mark for each contractor.

This change is a win for small business owners, but it’s still crucial to track all payments now so you’re ready when tax season rolls around. Be prepared, stay ahead of the game.

💡 Tip: Keep collecting W-9s from your contractors regardless of the amount so you're covered just in case

💡 BONUS Tip: Have your contractors submit their completed W-9 before you make the first payment to them, this way you won’t need to chase down anyone for their information and rush to file the 1099 before the deadline!
