Suffolk County lawmakers unanimously passed a new bill aimed at cracking down on human trafficking by strengthening rules for hotels and motels, including banning short-term hourly room rentals and requiring anti-trafficking training for staff, officials said.

The measure, sponsored by Legislator Chad Lennon, is expected to be signed into law by County Executive Ed Romaine.
