📸New World Wind is coming to the German state of Lower Saxony. Here’s an interesting article that offers a closer look at the installation of this wind tree in the backyard of a homeowner, Sebastian Harms.

“The wind tree will help make my home more self-sufficient in terms of energy supply,” explains Mr. Harms.

Each of the 36 Aeroleaf units provides up to 300 watts, so the wind tree generates up to 10,800 watts of electricity. Since the wind tree is 9.8 meters tall and thus remains below the 10-meter threshold, no building permit was required.

Harms invested approximately €70,000 in the wind tree, including the foundation and electrical installations. For Mr. Harms, the wind tree is the ideal complement to his two solar installations on the garage and the house, each of which can supply up to 10,000 watts.

The advantage is that the tree can also supply electricity at night and in winter, when his solar panels aren’t producing any power. By 2029, Mr. Harms aims to generate 100% of the energy needed for his home, office, and electric car himself.
